Can emit waves of air powerful enough to knock out prey taller than itself. I hypothesize that it amplifies the faint sound of wind within its body.

Sun & Moon Chimecho Best Moveset

The Sash lets Chimecho ignore defensive shortcomings for one turn. Use that turn to deal early damage, and Levitate squeezes extra value from the position. Max HP and Speed EVs push damage output.

Breeding's the move. Cosmic Power and Curse give Chimecho options it can't learn any other way, and Ghost and Normal coverage and more already covers a decent range on top of Synchronoise and Future Sight. The egg moves push it further.

Chimecho Guide

  • In Sun & Moon, Levitate changes the entire equation for Chimecho. The 455 BST doesn't tell the full story. Ranked C-Tier as a support. Dazzling Gleam with Focus Sash is the standard set.

  • In Sun & Moon, Chimecho's biggest threats include Heracross (Bug), Misdreavus (Ghost), and Tyranitar (Dark), all carrying super-effective STAB moves.

  • Levitate is what you want on Chimecho. Every competitive set worth running is built with that ability in mind.

  • At base 65 Speed, it won't be moving first often. On offense, Chimecho is leaning toward the special side (base 95 Sp. Atk). Defensively? Enough bulk to take a hit or two. Best used as a support.

  • In Sun & Moon, the best way to handle Chimecho: Super-effective STAB from faster Pokemon is the simplest answer. Bug, Ghost, and Dark-type attackers hit hardest.

Game Availability

Available in 16 titles since its debut in Ruby & Sapphire, Chimecho spans 8 generations of Pokemon games. It's accessible through wild encounters in most mainline games.
