Sp. Atk and Sp. Def carry most of Chimecho's stat budget. Attack's the obvious dump stat. Tough to catch and yields 2 Sp. Atk and Sp. Def EVs. Follows a fast 800K XP curve.
Can emit waves of air powerful enough to knock out prey taller than itself. I hypothesize that it amplifies the faint sound of wind within its body.
Chimecho Weakness
Type-wise, Chimecho takes extra damage from Bug, Ghost, and Dark. Levitate grants an additional Ground immunity, reshaping the matchup chart. With 75 HP and balanced defenses, Chimecho can afford to eat a neutral hit or two.

In Scarlet & Violet, Chimecho's biggest threats include Heracross (Bug), Misdreavus (Ghost), and Tyranitar (Dark), all carrying super-effective STAB moves.
Levitate is what you want on Chimecho. Every competitive set worth running is built with that ability in mind.
At base 65 Speed, it won't be moving first often. On offense, Chimecho is leaning toward the special side (base 95 Sp. Atk). Defensively? Enough bulk to take a hit or two.
For Scarlet & Violet, the core moveset is Recover, Dazzling Gleam, Cosmicpower, and Storedpower. Recover leads at 17% usage. This set covers the balanced role with a mix of damage and utility.
