Natures weren't part of the series until Generation III (Ruby & Sapphire), so Gold & Silver doesn't have them. Every stat is calculated from base stats, IVs (called DVs back then), and Stat Experience alone. Adamant pushes Attack up 10% and drops Sp. Attack by the same amount. Over in Gold & Silver, top picks include Ho-Oh, Dragonite, Scizor, and more. If your Pokemon doesn't run special moves, there's no real downside. Natures weren't in Gold & Silver. Competitive players apply Adamant when breeding these Pokemon in Gen 3+ games.

Adamant raises Attack by 10% and lowers Sp. Attack by 10%. Physical Sweepers and physical Wallbreakers that only use physical moves. 100 Pokemon competitively run this nature.
