Metagross Evolutions
End of the line. Metagross caps a three-stage chain that started at Beldum. Breeding produces the base form, and eggs are takes forever to hatch. Attack grew the most through evolution (+90 over Beldum), and Metagross peaks at 700 total stats. View every chain in the Evolution Chart.
How to Evolve
Breeding
Metagross is genderless — breed with Ditto to produce Beldum eggs. Part of the Mineral egg group.
ORAS Metagross Best Moveset
Mega Metagross's AbilityTough Claws boosts contact moves by 30%%, and 145 Attack at 110 Speed fires Steel/Psychic TermStab before most of the format. AbilityClear Body on the base form blocks stat drops. The moveset earns A-tier because the Mega form combines top-tier Speed and power that defined ORAS competitive play.

Moves List
The TM pool is where it gets interesting. Coverage across 12 types means almost nothing walls Metagross cleanly, with Psychic and Meteor Mash anchoring the STAB side. Matchup flexibility isn't a problem.

Base Stats
Metagross has four brains in total. Combined, the four brains can breeze through difficult calculations faster than a supercomputer. This Pokémon can float in the air by tucking in its four legs.
Metagross is the result of two Metang achieving fusion. When hunting, this Pokémon pins the prey to the ground under its massive body. It then eats the helpless victim using the large mouth on its stomach.
Metagross Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire Guide
In Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, Tough Claws changes the entire equation for Metagross. The 700 BST doesn't tell the full story. Ranked B-Tier as a sweeper. Earthquake with Assault Vest is the standard set.
In Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, Metagross can Mega Evolve into Mega Metagross. That's 800 BST, up from 700. The stat redistribution often changes its best role. Mega Stone required, one per battle.
In Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, Metagross's biggest threats include Arcanine (Fire), Swampert (Ground), and Gengar (Ghost), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Dark-type attackers are also a problem. Metagross has enough bulk to absorb a hit, but don't push the matchup. Pivot to a teammate that resists.
Tough Claws is what you want on Metagross. Every competitive set worth running is built with that ability in mind. With base 110 Speed, Tough Claws gives Metagross an edge before opponents can react.
Base 110 Speed lets it outrun most of the field. On offense, Metagross is a physical attacker with base 145 Attack. Defensively? Tanky enough to absorb a few hits. Best used as a sweeper.
Game Availability
