Glaceon Evolutions
Out of 8 evolutions from Eevee, Glaceon comes from the item path. The method you use determines which form you end up with. Breed through Eevee to get eggs. Both Glaceon and Vaporeon hit 525 total stats from Eevee. The difference is how those stats are split. View every chain in the Evolution Chart.
How to Evolve
Breeding
Breed with Glaceon to get Eevee eggs (with patience) using 218 partners from the Ground egg group. Notable egg moves include Captivate, Charm, Covet and 11 more.
USUM Glaceon Best Moveset
130 Sp. Atk with Ice TermStab at enormous special power. 110 Defense absorbs physical hits. But 65 Speed acts after most threats and Ice typing carries four common weaknesses. The moveset has the single-highest Sp. Atk among non-legendary Ice-types with nowhere near enough Speed to use it.
Best Build
Glaceon best EVs are Sp. Atk and HP
Special Wallbreaker Moveset
- Ice Beam
- Shadow Ball
- Blizzard
- Hidden Power Ground
Moves List
The natural movepool does the job, but Captivate and Charm from the egg pool give Glaceon something extra. Pair those with Blizzard and Ice Beam for STAB and coverage across 7 types for reach, and the kit fills out nicely.

It can instantaneously freeze any moisture that’s around it, creating ice pellets to shoot at its prey.
Glaceon Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon Guide
In Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon, Glaceon has a 525 base stat total and ranks as C-Tier: a niche pick in Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon's meta. It works best as a wallbreaker. Ice Beam with Choice Specs is the standard set.
In Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon, watch for Infernape (Fire), Machamp (Fighting), and Aerodactyl (Rock) when using Glaceon. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Steel-type attackers are also a problem.
Snow Cloak increases evasion to 1.25× during hail. That's the one you want on Glaceon. Ice Body is the hidden ability. Niche, but it has its uses.
In Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon, Glaceon fills the wallbreaker role. It's a special attacker with base 130 Sp. Atk. At base 65 Speed, it won't be moving first often. And it's enough bulk to take a hit or two.
In Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon, run Ice Beam, Shadow Ball, Blizzard, and Hiddenpowerground on Glaceon. Ice Beam is the most common pick at 0% usage. Blizzard provides reliable STAB damage.
Game Availability
Glaceon has been available in 14 games since Diamond & Pearl, though obtaining it requires an item-based evolution. This extra step makes it less common than Pokemon found through standard wild encounters.
