Nothing about Glaceon screams competitive powerhouse, and that's fine. Ice means only weak to Fire, Fighting, Rock, and Steel. Been around since Gen 4. Relies on priority moves or Scarf to keep up.
Glaceon's spread isn't flashy. Sp. Atk leads, Attack trails, 3 stats clear the bar. Tough to catch and worth 2 Sp. Atk EVs, on a medium-fast 1M XP curve.
It can control its body temperature at will. This enables it to freeze the moisture in the atmosphere, creating flurries of diamond dust.
It lowers its body heat to freeze its fur. The hairs then become like needles it can fire.
Glaceon Weakness
FragileGlaceon's Ice typing leaves it vulnerable to Fire, Fighting, Rock, and Steel moves. 4 weaknesses is about average, nothing too hard to play around.
Out of 8 evolutions from Eevee, Glaceon comes from the item path. The method you use determines which form you end up with. Breed through Eevee to get eggs. Both Glaceon and Vaporeon hit 525 total stats from Eevee. The difference is how those stats are split.
How to Evolve
Breed with Glaceon to get Eevee eggs (with patience) using 195 partners from the Ground egg group. Notable egg moves include Curse, Detect, Double Kick and 5 more.
You commit to a move every time Glaceon comes in. Choice Specs gives boosted special damage with move lock, and Icebody adds to that. Max Sp. Atk and Speed EVs make sure the locked move actually hurts. The remaining moves covers the rest.

The natural movepool does the job, but Curse and Detect from the egg pool give Glaceon something extra. Pair those with Blizzard and Ice Beam for STAB and coverage across 9 types for reach, and the kit fills out nicely.

Glaceon sits at low spawn rates across 10 spots in late-game routes. Pick one from the sorted list and commit to it. Jumping between areas wastes more time than waiting in the right location.

Glaceon has a 525 base stat total and ranks as B-Tier — a solid choice for the right team. It works best as a wallbreaker. Base 130 Sp. Atk is where it shines.
Watch for Infernape (Fire), Machamp (Fighting), and Aerodactyl (Rock) when using Glaceon. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Steel-type attackers are also a problem.
Snow Cloak increases evasion to 1.25× during hail — that's the one you want on Glaceon. Ice Body is the hidden ability. Niche, but it has its uses.
Glaceon fills the wallbreaker role. It's a special attacker with base 130 Sp. Atk. At base 65 Speed, it won't be moving first often. And it's enough bulk to take a hit or two.
Glaceon appears in 14 games, including Platinum, HeartGold & SoulSilver, and Diamond & Pearl.
Glaceon has been available in 14 games since Diamond & Pearl, though obtaining it requires an item-based evolution. This extra step makes it less common than Pokemon found through standard wild encounters.
