Eelektross Best Moveset
Pure Electric with AbilityLevitate granting Ground immunity means zero type weaknesses. 115 Attack and 105 Sp. Atk give mixed offensive flexibility. Held ItemAssault Vest with NatureQuiet patches the 80 Sp. Def while maximizing special damage. The moveset hits from either side with no exploitable weakness. 50 Speed means going last, but the zero-weakness profile means surviving the hit.
Electric with Levitate in Gen V (Black & White). Zero weaknesses. No type hit Eelektross super-effectively. The downside was mediocre 115/85 offenses and 50 Speed.
Special Tank Moveset
- Flamethrower
- Thunderbolt
- Giga Drain
- Volt Switch
Recommended Teammates
Same zero-weakness typing in Gen VI (X & Y). Assault Vest tanked hits from both sides, but 50 Speed meant Eelektross was always reacting, never pressuring.

Two gens at the same level in Gen VII (Sun & Moon). Zero weaknesses sounded impressive but 50 Speed and no resistances meant taking neutral hits was the entire game plan.

- Flamethrower

Returned in Gen IX (Scarlet & Violet) and fell to the bottom. Zero weaknesses couldn't compensate for stats that were mediocre in every category. The typing gimmick aged poorly.

Eelektross Weakness
Eelektross is weak to Ground. Few weaknesses and 3 resistances make the typing clean. Levitate grants an additional Ground immunity, reshaping the matchup chart. With 85 HP and balanced defenses, Eelektross can afford to eat a neutral hit or two.

Base Stats
Attack and Sp. Atk carry most of Eelektross's stat budget. Speed's the obvious dump stat. Tough to catch and yields 3 Attack EVs. Follows a slow 1.25M XP grind.
They crawl out of the ocean using their arms. They will attack prey on shore and immediately drag it into the ocean.
Eelektross Guide
Levitate changes the entire equation for Eelektross. The 515 BST doesn't tell the full story. Ranked C-Tier as a wallbreaker.
Eelektross's biggest threats include Excadrill (Ground), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Only 1 weakness means fewer dedicated counters to worry about.
Levitate is what you want on Eelektross. Every competitive set worth running is built with that ability in mind.
Base 50 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go. On offense, Eelektross is a mixed attacker with base 115 Attack and 105 Sp. Atk. Defensively? Enough bulk to take a hit or two. Best used as a wallbreaker.
The core moveset is Flamethrower, Drain Punch, Giga Drain, and Volt Switch. Flamethrower leads at 0% usage. This set covers the wallbreaker role with a mix of damage and utility.
Game Availability
Eelektross joined the series in Black & White and has been available in 9 titles so far. With 6 generations of appearances, it's established itself despite the later start.
