Dragalge Weakness

Dragalge's Poison/Dragon typing leaves it vulnerable to Ice, Ground, Psychic, and Dragon. With 7 resistances, the defensive profile is strong. Dragalge's special bulk (base 123 Sp.Def) helps absorb special-type weaknesses, though physical moves exploit the lower Defense.

Pokedex Entry

Their poison is strong enough to eat through the hull of a tanker, and they spit it indiscriminately at anything that enters their territory.

Tales are told of ships that wander into seas where Dragalge live, never to return.

Dragalge Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire Guide

  • In Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, Adaptability changes the entire equation for Dragalge. The 494 BST doesn't tell the full story. Ranked C-Tier. Toxic Spikes with Black Sludge is the standard set.

  • In Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, watch for Cloyster (Ice), Swampert (Ground), and Gardevoir (Psychic) when using Dragalge. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Dragon-type attackers are also a problem.

  • Adaptability is what you want on Dragalge. Every competitive set worth running is built with that ability in mind. The alternatives (Poison Point, Poison Touch) work on paper but Adaptability is what makes Dragalge worth using.

  • Base 44 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go. On offense, Dragalge is a special attacker with base 97 Sp. Atk. Defensively? Enough bulk to take a hit or two.

  • In Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, run Toxic Spikes, Draco Meteor, Sludge Bomb, and Sludgewave on Dragalge. Toxic Spikes is the most common pick at 0% usage. This set covers the balanced role with a mix of damage and utility.

Game Availability

Dragalge joined the series in X & Y and has been available in 7 titles so far. With 5 generations of appearances, it's established itself despite the later start.
