Clauncher is technically a pre-evolution of Clawitzer, but it holds its own in formats where Eviolite is allowed. Only weak to Electric and Grass. Known as the Water Gun Pokemon. Flexible enough to run physical or special sets.

You won't find a real weakness in Clauncher's stat line. It's well-rounded for the Water Gun Pokemon, and what it does with that depends on moveset and items. Yields 1 Sp. Atk EV, on a slow 1.25M XP grind.

Egg moves make a real difference. Clauncher gets Aqua Jet and Crabhammer exclusively through breeding, filling gaps that TMs and level-up can't touch. Coverage across 8 types rounds out the picture alongside Crabhammer and Muddy Water.

  • At 330 BST, Clauncher is firmly in pre-evolution territory. Evolve it into Clawitzer before bringing it to any serious fight.

  • Clauncher's biggest threats include Jolteon (Electric) and Exeggutor (Grass), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Only 2 weaknesses means fewer dedicated counters to worry about.

  • Clauncher evolves into Clawitzer at level 37. Clauncher is the base form of this evolutionary line.

  • Mega Launcher is the go-to ability for Clauncher. It strengthens aura and pulse moves to 1.5× their power. It's Clauncher's only ability.

  • Clauncher is leaning toward the special side (base 58 Sp. Atk). But the speed tells the real story — base 44 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go.

  • Clauncher appears in 7 games, including X & Y, Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, and Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon.

Since X & Y, Clauncher has been obtainable in 7 games. A Generation 6 debut means a shorter history, but Clauncher has appeared steadily across every generation since.
