Pidove Weakness

Good

Pidove's Normal/Flying typing leaves it vulnerable to Electric, Ice, and Rock moves. It shrugs off Ground and Ghost-type attacks completely.

Best Build

No build content available for this Pokemon in Gen 6.

Try selecting a different game/generation filter, or check back later.

The natural movepool does the job, but Bestow and Hypnosis from the egg pool give Pidove something extra. Pair those with Sky Attack and Fly for STAB and Steel and Bug coverage and more for reach, and the kit fills out nicely.

  • Pidove isn't fully evolved, so it's not built for competitive play. You'll want to evolve it into Tranquill to unlock its full potential. At 264 BST, it's a stepping stone rather than a team anchor.

  • Watch for Rotom (Electric), Lapras (Ice), and Aerodactyl (Rock) when using Pidove. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB.

  • Pidove evolves into Tranquill at level 21. Pidove is the base form in a 3-stage evolutionary line.

  • Big Pecks protects against Defense drops — that's the one you want on Pidove. Rivalry is the hidden ability. Niche, but it has its uses. Super Luck works too if your team needs something different.

  • Pidove fills the balanced role. It's leaning toward the physical side (base 55 Attack). Base 43 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go. And it's fragile — can't afford to take many hits.

  • Pidove appears in 7 games, including Black & White, Black 2 & White 2, and X & Y.

Introduced in Black & White, Pidove has appeared in 7 games across 5 generations. Later debuts mean fewer total appearances, but it's been a consistent presence since its introduction.
