Stunfisk Weakness

Type-wise, Stunfisk takes extra damage from Fire, Water, Fighting, and Ground. Electric and Poison moves do nothing thanks to a full immunity. 8 resistances give it solid defensive coverage on top of that. Stunfisk's overall bulk (109/99/84) lets it take a hit or two from most weaknesses before going down.

Stunfisk Guide

  • In Sword & Shield, Stunfisk has a 471 base stat total and ranks as A-Tier: a strong pick in Sword & Shield's competitive scene. It works best as a trick room. Stealth Rock with Leftovers is the standard set.

  • In Sword & Shield, Stunfisk's biggest threats include Infernape (Fire), Milotic (Water), and Machamp (Fighting), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Ground-type attackers are also a problem. At base 32 Speed, Stunfisk won't outrun any of these threats so switching to a resist is usually the safer play.

  • Mimicry is the go-to ability for Stunfisk. It changes type depending on the terrain. It's Stunfisk's only ability.

  • In Sword & Shield, Stunfisk fills the trick room role. It's a special attacker with base 66 Sp. Atk. Base 32 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go. And it's tanky enough to absorb a few hits.

  • In Sword & Shield, the best way to handle Stunfisk: Super-effective STAB from faster Pokemon is the simplest answer. Fire, Water, and Fighting-type attackers hit hardest.

Game Availability

Stunfisk first appeared in Black & White and spans 8 games across 6 generations. It later gained a Galarian form in Generation 8, adding new dimensions to its competitive identity.
