It conceals itself in the mud of the seashore. Then it waits. When prey touch it, it delivers a jolt of electricity.

Stunfisk Weakness

Type-wise, Stunfisk takes extra damage from Fire, Water, Fighting, and Ground. Electric and Poison moves do nothing thanks to a full immunity. 8 resistances give it solid defensive coverage on top of that. Stunfisk's overall bulk (109/99/84) lets it take a hit or two from most weaknesses before going down.

Stunfisk Guide

  • Stunfisk has a 471 base stat total and ranks as C-Tier: a situational pick that fills a niche. It works best as a trick room. Base 109 HP is where it shines.

  • Stunfisk's biggest threats include Infernape (Fire), Milotic (Water), and Machamp (Fighting), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Ground-type attackers are also a problem. At base 32 Speed, Stunfisk won't outrun any of these threats so switching to a resist is usually the safer play.

  • Mimicry is the go-to ability for Stunfisk. It changes type depending on the terrain. It's Stunfisk's only ability.

  • Stunfisk fills the trick room role. It's a special attacker with base 66 Sp. Atk. Base 32 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go. And it's tanky enough to absorb a few hits.

  • The core moveset is Stealth Rock, Discharge, Foulplay, and Protect. Stealth Rock leads at 20% usage. Discharge provides reliable STAB damage.

Game Availability

Stunfisk first appeared in Black & White and spans 8 games across 6 generations. It later gained a Galarian form in Generation 8, adding new dimensions to its competitive identity.
