Mid-stage Pokemon like Gurdurr rarely see competitive play outside of special formats. It's a waypoint on the road to Conkeldurr, which is where the real potential kicks in. Only weak to Flying, Psychic, and Fairy. Known as the Muscular Pokemon.

Nothing fancy in Gurdurr's spread. It leans physical with Attack out front. And you'll get 2 Attack EVs per KO for it. Follows a 1.06M XP medium-slow curve.

It shows off its muscles to Machoke and other Gurdurr. If it fails to measure up to the other Pokémon, it lies low for a little while.

Sword

Gurdurr excels at demolition—construction is not its forte. In any case, there’s skill in the way this Pokémon wields its metal beam.

Shield

Gurdurr Weakness

Avg

Flying, Psychic, and Fairy-type moves hit Gurdurr for super-effective damage. Gurdurr's physical bulk (base 85 Def) helps cushion physical weakness hits, but special attackers are the bigger threat.

or evolve from Timburr (Step 1)
  • At 405 BST, Gurdurr is firmly in pre-evolution territory. Evolve it into Conkeldurr before bringing it to any serious fight.

  • Watch for Staraptor (Flying), Reuniclus (Psychic), and Gardevoir (Fairy) when using Gurdurr. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. At base 40 Speed, Gurdurr won't outrun any of these threats so switching to a resist is usually the safer play.

  • Timburr evolves into Gurdurr at level 25. Gurdurr evolves into Conkeldurr by trading. Gurdurr is a middle-stage evolution in the Timburr line.

  • Gurdurr gets Sheer Force, Guts, and Iron Fist. But Sheer Force is the one that matters — it's the centerpiece of every viable set. Build around that.

  • Gurdurr is a physical attacker with base 105 Attack. Enough bulk to take a hit or two, too. But the speed tells the real story — base 40 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go. Fits the attacker role.

  • Gurdurr appears in 8 games, including Black & White, Black 2 & White 2, and X & Y.

Since Black & White, Gurdurr has been obtainable in 8 games. A Generation 5 debut means a shorter history, but Gurdurr has appeared steadily across every generation since.
