Ampharos Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire Guide
In Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, Mold Breaker changes the entire equation for Ampharos. The 610 BST doesn't tell the full story. Ranked B-Tier as a wallbreaker. Hiddenpowerice with Leftovers is the standard set.
In Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, Ampharos can Mega Evolve into Mega Ampharos. That's 710 BST, up from 610. The stat redistribution often changes its best role. Mega Stone required, one per battle.
In Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, watch for Cloyster (Ice), Golem (Ground), and Kingdra (Dragon) when using Ampharos. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Fairy-type attackers are also a problem. Ampharos has enough bulk to absorb a hit, but don't push the matchup. Pivot to a teammate that resists.
Mold Breaker is what you want on Ampharos. Every competitive set worth running is built with that ability in mind. On wall sets, Mold Breaker pairs with Ampharos's base 105 Defense to absorb physical hits on the switch.
Base 45 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go. On offense, Ampharos is a special attacker with base 165 Sp. Atk. Defensively? Tanky enough to absorb a few hits. Best used as a wallbreaker.
