Servine Best Moveset
60 Sp. Atk at 83 Speed on Grass with AbilityContrary turning Leaf Storm into a +2 boost every use. The Speed is decent but the damage falls short. One evolution from Serperior where 113 Speed and Contrary Leaf Storm stack into a special threat that snowballs.
Servine saw minimal competitive use in Gen V (Black & White / B2W2). This was Servine's competitive peak. Its most popular set ran Overgrow with Eviolite, favoring a Jolly nature.

Servine Weakness
Servine is weak to Fire, Ice, Poison, Flying, and Bug. 4 resistances help offset the weaknesses. That's a lot of weak spots to cover so team support is important.

Evolution
Partway through Snivy's chain. Servine still has another evolution ahead before reaching Serperior. For breeding, average hatch time with a massive partner pool via two egg groups. Defense has grown the most so far (+20), but there's still another 115 stats to gain in the final evolution. View every chain in the Evolution Chart.

Base Stats
An unusually even spread gives Servine flexibility. Speed barely edges ahead. But HP isn't far off. Tough to catch and follows a 1.06M XP medium-slow curve. Yields 2 Speed EVs.
When it gets dirty, its leaves can’t be used in photosynthesis, so it always keeps itself clean.
Servine Guide
Servine is meant to evolve into Serperior. At 413 BST, the stats aren't there for competitive play yet. Pre-evolution Pokemon rarely hold up against fully evolved threats.
Contrary is what you want on Servine. Every competitive set worth running is built with that ability in mind. The alternatives (Overgrow) work on paper but Contrary is what makes Servine worth using.
Contrary is the hidden ability. It inverts stat changes. Worth hunting for if you want Servine to compete at a higher level.
Base 83 Speed is workable. Faster than some, slower than many. On offense, Servine is a special attacker with base 60 Sp. Atk. Defensively? Enough bulk to take a hit or two.
Game Availability
Servine joined the series in Black & White and has been available in 7 titles so far. With 6 generations of appearances, it's established itself despite the later start.
