Servine sits in the middle of its evolution line — stronger than Snivy but not yet at full power. Most trainers push through to Serperior as fast as possible. Introduced in Gen 5. 5 type weaknesses to keep in mind.
An unusually even spread gives Servine flexibility. Speed barely edges ahead. But HP isn't far off. Tough to catch and follows a 1.06M XP medium-slow curve. Yields 2 Speed EVs.
It moves along the ground as if sliding. Its swift movements befuddle its foes, and it then attacks with a vine whip.
When it gets dirty, its leaves can’t be used in photosynthesis, so it always keeps itself clean.
Servine Weakness
FragileServine is weak to Fire, Ice, Poison, Flying, and Bug-type moves. 4 resistances help offset the weaknesses. That's a lot of weak spots to cover so team support is important.
Partway through Snivy's chain. Servine still has another evolution ahead before reaching Serperior. For breeding, average hatch time with no compatible partners via two egg groups. Defense has grown the most so far (+20), but there's still another 115 stats to gain in the final evolution.
How to Evolve
Breed with Servine to get Snivy eggs easily from the Ground and Plant egg groups. Notable egg moves include Captivate, Glare, Grassy Terrain and 8 more.

Servine is meant to evolve into Serperior. At 413 BST, the stats aren't there for competitive play yet. Pre-evolution Pokemon rarely hold up against fully evolved threats.
Contrary is what you want on Servine. Every competitive set worth running is built with that ability in mind. The alternatives (Overgrow) work on paper but Contrary is what makes Servine worth using.
Base 83 Speed is workable — faster than some, slower than many. On offense, Servine is leaning toward the physical side (base 60 Attack). Defensively? Enough bulk to take a hit or two.
