An unusually even spread gives Mesprit flexibility. Attack barely edges ahead. But HP isn't far off. Near-impossible to catch and follows a slow 1.25M XP grind. Yields 3 Attack and Sp. Atk and Sp. Def EVs.

Known as the Being of Emotion. In legend, this Pokémon was feared, as any who showed disrespect would have their emotions thrown into disarray.

Legends: Arceus

Bug, Ghost, and Dark moves hit Mesprit for super-effective damage. Levitate grants an additional Ground immunity, reshaping the matchup chart. Mesprit's overall bulk (80/105/105) lets it take a hit or two from most weaknesses before going down.

Mesprit doesn't appear in Scarlet & Violet. Transfer it from Diamond, Platinum, or Legends: Arceus to add it to your collection. Check the source games below for encounter details.

Mesprit is not available as a wild encounter in this game.

Also found in:

  • At 580 BST, Mesprit is built different. We rank it S-Tier. As a Legendary Pokemon, the raw stats back up the reputation. Best used as an attacker.

  • Watch for Pinsir (Bug), Dusknoir (Ghost), and Weavile (Dark) when using Mesprit. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB.

  • Levitate is what you want on Mesprit. Every competitive set worth running is built with that ability in mind.

  • Base 80 Speed is workable. Faster than some, slower than many. On offense, Mesprit is leaning toward the physical side (base 105 Attack). Defensively? Tanky enough to absorb a few hits. Best used as an attacker.

  • Mesprit has answers, but so do you. Faster attackers outpace it. Anything with a super-effective STAB move and decent speed can revenge kill.

First obtainable in Diamond & Pearl, Mesprit has been featured in 13 titles across 7 generations. Legendary status means a single encounter per playthrough in most games.
