Giratina Weakness
Giratina's Ghost/Dragon typing leaves it vulnerable to Ice, Ghost, Dragon, Dark, and Fairy. It shrugs off Normal and Fighting-type attacks completely. With 6 resistances, the defensive profile is strong. Levitate grants an additional Ground immunity, reshaping the matchup chart. Giratina's overall bulk (150/100/100) lets it take a hit or two from most weaknesses before going down.

SwSh Giratina Best Moveset
Ghost/Dragon with 150 HP and 120 in both defenses create one of the bulkiest profiles in the game. AbilityPressure drains PP at double rate, and 100/100 offenses are strong enough to threaten back. S-tier because breaking through this defensive mass requires specific coverage that most teams simply don't carry.

Moves List
Breadth over depth defines this movepool. Giratina won't stack one type's damage ceiling, but coverage across 11 types means it always has an effective option. Shadow Force and Outrage anchor the STAB core.

Giratina Sword & Shield Guide
For the Sword & Shield meta, At 680 BST, Giratina is built different. We rank it S-Tier. As a Legendary Pokemon, the raw stats back up the reputation. Best used as a wall. Will O Wisp with Leftovers is the standard set.
In Sword & Shield, watch for Weavile (Ice), Dusknoir (Ghost), and Kingdra (Dragon) when using Giratina. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Dark and Fairy-type attackers are also a problem. With 5 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter. Giratina has enough bulk to absorb a hit, but don't push the matchup. Pivot to a teammate that resists.
Levitate is what you want on Giratina. Every competitive set worth running is built with that ability in mind. On wall sets, Levitate pairs with Giratina's base 100 Defense to absorb physical hits on the switch.
Base 90 Speed is workable. Faster than some, slower than many. On offense, Giratina is a physical attacker with base 120 Attack. Defensively? Tanky enough to absorb a few hits. Best used as a wall.
For Sword & Shield, Giratina has answers, but so do you. Status moves (Toxic, Will-O-Wisp) wear it down. Setup sweepers can use it as a boost opportunity. Physical attackers can break through.
