How to Get Shiny Crustle in Black 2 & White 2
Crustle hardens into shiny as an evolved Dwebble, bred with a foreign-language parent at the Day Care instead of scoured from Route 18. Compare Shiny Crustle odds across every game
Black 2 & White 2 Shiny Crustle Calculator
3 MethodsThe best route is Masuda Method at full boosts, about 1 in 1,024 on each try. Tune it below.
Masuda Method: Breed with a parent from a different-language game. Works on any breedable line.
Full Odds: Walk through grass, surf, or fish. Every encounter is its own independent shiny roll.
Soft Reset: Save in front of a static, gift, or legendary encounter, then reset until it sparkles.
How many you have done, or plan to do.
| Chance | Encounters |
|---|---|
| 10%lucky few | 108 |
| 25%one in four | 295 |
| 50%coin flip | 710 |
| 90%very likely | 2,357 |
How is this calculated?
Every encounter has the same shiny chance, the Shiny Odds Per Try shown above. Each one is a separate roll that does not care how many you have already done, so the more you hunt, the higher your overall chance of at least one shiny. The formula below turns your odds and your number of tries into that combined chance.
chance after N tries = 1 − (1 − p)^N, where p = 1 / odds per try
Example at 1 in 8,192 (classic full odds): about 864 encounters for a 10 percent chance, 5,678 for 50 percent, and 18,862 for 90 percent.
The table above flips that around: it shows how many encounters it takes to reach a 10, 25, 50, and 90 percent chance at your current odds. Turning on boosts like the Shiny Charm, sandwiches, or chains improves your odds, so the encounter numbers drop.
These are estimates, not promises. Most games have no pity counter, meaning no guaranteed shiny no matter how many you hunt, so even Very Likely is not guaranteed: some hunters find one early, others go well past that point.

Crustle Weakness
Type-wise, Crustle takes extra damage from Water, Rock, and Steel. Crustle's physical bulk (base 125 Def) helps cushion physical weakness hits, but special attackers are the bigger threat.
| Damage | Types |
|---|---|
| 2x (Weak) | Water, Rock, Steel |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Normal, Poison |
- Fairy type does not exist — Dragon has fewer checks
- Physical / Special split now per-move (introduced Gen IV)

Crustle Black 2 & White 2 Guide
Yes. Wild Crustle in Black 2 & White 2 can hold Hard Stone (5%) or Rare Bone (1%). Use Thief (TM46) or Covet to swipe the held item without affecting your catch chance. Quickest way to farm rare items like Hard Stone.
In Black 2 & White 2, Crustle plays as a hazard setter. Not the fastest, so pick your spots carefully.
Crustle's hidden ability is Weak Armor. It raises Speed and lowers Defense by one stage each upon being hit by a physical move. Situational compared to Sturdy and Shell Armor.
In Black 2 & White 2, Adamant is the go-to nature for Crustle. That's +Attack / -Sp. Atk. Pair it with 220 HP / 224 Atk / 20 Def / 44 Spe EVs. Fits the hazard setter role.
Game Availability
Introduced in Black & White, Crustle has appeared in 7 games across 5 generations. Later debuts mean fewer total appearances, but it's been a consistent presence since its introduction.
