Is Camerupt Good in Legends: Z-A Playthrough?
Team Flare Nouveau Griselle carries Camerupt on her endgame team. Mega Camerupt trades Speed for massive special and physical offense, hitting hard on slow but devastating cooldowns. Fire and Ground covers Steel, Electric, and Ice matchups. Not fast, but each attack from Mega Camerupt takes a serious chunk out of anything it hits.

Legends: Z-A Shiny Camerupt Calculator
1 MethodThe only route here is Full Odds, about 1 in 1,024 on each try. Tune it below.
Full Odds: Walk through grass, surf, or fish. Every encounter is its own independent shiny roll.
How many you have done, or plan to do.
| Chance | Encounters |
|---|---|
| 10%lucky few | 108 |
| 25%one in four | 295 |
| 50%coin flip | 710 |
| 90%very likely | 2,357 |
How is this calculated?
Every encounter has the same shiny chance, the Shiny Odds Per Try shown above. Each one is a separate roll that does not care how many you have already done, so the more you hunt, the higher your overall chance of at least one shiny. The formula below turns your odds and your number of tries into that combined chance.
chance after N tries = 1 − (1 − p)^N, where p = 1 / odds per try
Example at 1 in 8,192 (classic full odds): about 864 encounters for a 10 percent chance, 5,678 for 50 percent, and 18,862 for 90 percent.
The table above flips that around: it shows how many encounters it takes to reach a 10, 25, 50, and 90 percent chance at your current odds. Turning on boosts like the Shiny Charm, sandwiches, or chains improves your odds, so the encounter numbers drop.
These are estimates, not promises. Most games have no pity counter, meaning no guaranteed shiny no matter how many you hunt, so even Very Likely is not guaranteed: some hunters find one early, others go well past that point.
For time estimates and charm math, open the Legends: Z-A shiny odds calculator with Camerupt already selected.
Camerupt Weakness
Camerupt's Fire/Ground typing leaves it vulnerable to Water and Ground. Water hits land at 4x, so they're the biggest threat. It shrugs off Electric-type attacks completely. The Fire/Ground typing picks up 5 resistances to work with.
| Damage | Types |
|---|---|
| 4x (Critical) | Water |
| 2x (Weak) | Ground |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Fire, Poison, Bug, Steel, Fairy |
| 0x (Immune) | Electric |

Moves List
The level-up pool is slim, so TMs matter here. Camerupt's Normal and Rock coverage and more all comes from technical machines, built on top of Overheat and Flare Blitz for same-type damage. Earth Power and Take Down are the payoff moves.

Camerupt Legends: Z-A Guide
Mega Evolution isn't available in Legends: Z-A, but Camerupt does have a Mega form in Gen 6-7 games (X/Y, ORAS, Sun/Moon). Mega Camerupt hits 560 BST.
In Legends: Z-A, use Camerupt as an attacker. Splits damage between physical and special. It's slow, so Trick Room or priority moves are key. Eruption is the primary attack.
For Legends: Z-A, run Modest on Camerupt. +Sp. Atk is what matters, and the -Attack cut doesn't hurt this set. Fits the attacker role.
Game Availability
Available since Ruby & Sapphire, Camerupt appears in 15 games spanning 7 generations. Beyond its original form, it gained a Mega form in Generation 6.
