Arboliva's all-in on Sp. Atk at the expense of Speed. The special lean is obvious from the bars. Yields 3 Sp. Atk EVs and follows a 1.06M XP medium-slow curve.
This calm Pokémon is very compassionate. It will share its delicious, nutrient-rich oil with weakened Pokémon.
This Pokémon drives back enemies by launching its rich, aromatic oil at them with enough force to smash a boulder.
Type-wise, Arboliva takes extra damage from Fire, Ice, Fighting, Poison, Flying, and Bug. Ghost moves do nothing thanks to a full immunity. It resists 4 types, giving it decent defensive coverage.
| Damage | Types |
|---|---|
| 2x (Weak) | Fire, Ice, Fighting, Poison, Flying, Bug |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Water, Electric, Grass, Ground |
| 0x (Immune) | Ghost |

Arboliva is the final form in a three-stage chain from Smoliv through Dolliv. Breeding this form produces Smoliv eggs (average hatch time). Evolving from Smoliv gave Arboliva the biggest boost in Sp.Atk (+67), bringing the total to 510 stats. View every chain in the Evolution Chart.
How to Evolve
Arboliva doesn't rely on pure speed. Assault Vest gives it a special bulk boost with no status moves allowed to stay healthy, and Modest nature still pushes offense. Earthpower and the remaining moves keep the pressure on while max HP and Sp. Atk EVs balance power and survivability.

Moves
TMs define Arboliva's movepool. The natural moves cover basics with Giga Impact and Hyper Beam, but the real versatility comes from technical machines giving it Psychic and Fairy coverage and more. That's where the options open up.

Step 3Arboliva ✓
Arboliva has a 510 base stat total and ranks as B-Tier: a solid choice for the right team. It works best as a wallbreaker. Base 125 Sp. Atk is where it shines.
Arboliva's biggest threats include Charizard (Fire), Cloyster (Ice), and Blaziken (Fighting), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Poison, Flying, and Bug-type attackers are also a problem. With 6 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter. At base 39 Speed, Arboliva won't outrun any of these threats so switching to a resist is usually the safer play.
Seed Sower is the go-to ability for Arboliva. It turns the ground into Grassy Terrain when the Pokémon is hit by an attack. Its hidden ability Harvest can work in specific setups.
Arboliva fills the wallbreaker role. It's leaning toward the special side (base 125 Sp. Atk). Base 39 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go. And it's enough bulk to take a hit or two.
Best way to handle Arboliva: Status moves (Toxic, Will-O-Wisp) wear it down. Setup sweepers can use it as a boost opportunity. Physical attackers can break through.
Introduced in Scarlet & Violet, Arboliva has appeared in 1 games across 2 generations. Later debuts mean fewer total appearances, but it's been a consistent presence since its introduction.
