Under Trick Room, Arboliva's terrible Speed becomes its best asset — it 'outspeeds' nearly everything when turns are reversed. And it hits hard enough to make that matter. Ghost moves can't touch it, which offsets the 6 weaknesses somewhat. Its damage comes from the special side.

Arboliva's all-in on Sp. Atk at the expense of Speed. The special lean is obvious from the bars. Yields 3 Sp. Atk EVs and follows a 1.06M XP medium-slow curve.

Arboliva Weakness

Vulnerable

Type-wise, Arboliva takes extra damage from Fire, Ice, Fighting, Poison, Flying, and Bug. Ghost moves do nothing thanks to a full immunity. It resists 4 types, giving it decent defensive coverage.

Arboliva doesn't rely on pure speed. Assault Vest gives it a special bulk boost with no status moves allowed to stay healthy, and Modest nature still pushes offense. Earthpower and the remaining moves keep the pressure on while max HP and Sp. Atk EVs balance power and survivability.

or evolve from Smoliv (Step 1)
  3. Arboliva
    Step 3Arboliva
  • Arboliva has a 510 base stat total and ranks as B-Tier — a solid choice for the right team. It works best as a wallbreaker. Base 125 Sp. Atk is where it shines.

  • Arboliva's biggest threats include Charizard (Fire), Cloyster (Ice), and Blaziken (Fighting), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Poison, Flying, and Bug-type attackers are also a problem. With 6 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter. At base 39 Speed, Arboliva won't outrun any of these threats so switching to a resist is usually the safer play.

  • Dolliv evolves into Arboliva at level 35. Arboliva is the final evolution in a 3-stage line starting from Smoliv. At 510 BST, it's got solid stats to work with.

  • Seed Sower is the go-to ability for Arboliva. It turns the ground into Grassy Terrain when the Pokémon is hit by an attack. Its hidden ability Harvest can work in specific setups.

  • Arboliva fills the wallbreaker role. It's leaning toward the special side (base 125 Sp. Atk). Base 39 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go. And it's enough bulk to take a hit or two.

  • Arboliva can be found in Scarlet & Violet.

Introduced in Scarlet & Violet, Arboliva has appeared in 1 games across 1 generation. Later debuts mean fewer total appearances, but it's been a consistent presence since its introduction.
