Don't let the raw stats fool you. Regenerator recovers a third of its HP every time it switches out, and that completely changes the math for Amoonguss. Only weak to Fire, Ice, Flying, and Psychic. Been around since Gen 5.
Amoonguss's spread is anchored by HP, with balanced defenses backing it up. Speed is the clear weak point. Worth 2 HP EVs per KO, and the medium-fast 1M XP curve keeps leveling painless.
Be wary of the poisonous spores it releases. Mushrooms resembling Amoonguss’s caps will grow out of anywhere the spores touch.
Amoonguss mimics Poké Balls. It is not yet clear whether this mimicry is effective against other Pokémon.
Amoonguss Weakness
VulnerableAmoonguss's Grass/Poison typing leaves it vulnerable to Fire, Ice, Flying, and Psychic moves. It resists 5 types, giving it decent defensive coverage.
Amoonguss is the evolved form of Foongus. Breeding produces Foongus eggs, and they're average hatch time. Evolving from Foongus gave Amoonguss the biggest boost in HP (+45), bringing the total to 464 stats.
How to Evolve
Breed with Amoonguss to get Foongus eggs easily from the Plant egg group. Notable egg moves include Body Slam, Defense Curl, Endure and 5 more.
Regenerator isn't flashy, but it matters. Combined with Black Sludge for Poison-type passive recovery and max HP and Defense EVs, Amoonguss fills the defensive wall slot reliably. Sassy nature finishes the spread.

Don't let Amoonguss's 464 base stat total fool you. Regenerator is what makes it tick — it punches way above its weight class. We rate it B-Tier as a trick room.
Foongus evolves into Amoonguss at level 39. Amoonguss is the fully evolved form. It sits at 464 BST in its evolved form.
Run Regenerator on Amoonguss. It's the ability that defines how you build around it and the main reason it holds a competitive niche. Amoonguss also gets Effect Spore, but they don't compare.
Amoonguss fills the trick room role. It's leaning toward the physical side (base 85 Attack). Base 30 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go. And it's enough bulk to take a hit or two.
Amoonguss appears in 9 games, including Black & White, Black 2 & White 2, and X & Y.
Introduced in Black & White, Amoonguss has appeared in 9 games across 5 generations. Later debuts mean fewer total appearances, but it's been a consistent presence since its introduction.
