Stats & Training
Amoonguss's spread is anchored by HP, with balanced defenses backing it up. Speed is the clear weak point. Worth 2 HP EVs per KO, and the medium-fast 1M XP curve keeps leveling painless.
They show off their Poké Ball caps to lure prey, but very few Pokémon are fooled by this.
It lures prey close by dancing and waving its arm caps, which resemble Poké Balls, in a swaying motion.
Amoonguss Weakness

Amoonguss Guide
In X & Y, Don't let Amoonguss's 464 base stat total fool you. Regenerator is what makes it tick. It punches way above its weight class. We rate it A-Tier as a trick room. Spore with Rocky Helmet is the standard set.
In X & Y, Run Regenerator on Amoonguss. It's the ability that defines how you build around it and the main reason it holds a competitive niche. Amoonguss also gets Effect Spore, but they don't compare.
In X & Y, Amoonguss fills the trick room role. It's leaning toward the physical side (base 85 Attack). Base 30 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go. And it's enough bulk to take a hit or two.
For X & Y, Amoonguss has answers, but so do you. Super-effective STAB from faster Pokemon is the simplest answer. Fire, Ice, and Flying-type attackers hit hardest.
Game Availability
Introduced in Black & White, Amoonguss has appeared in 9 games across 6 generations. Later debuts mean fewer total appearances, but it's been a consistent presence since its introduction.
