Sealeo sits in the middle of its evolution line — stronger than Spheal but not yet at full power. Most trainers push through to Walrein as fast as possible. Known as the Ball Roll Pokemon. Flexible enough to run physical or special sets.
Bulk defines Sealeo's stat line. HP and Sp. Atk anchor the defensive side, but Speed can't keep up offensively. Common in the wild and worth 2 HP EVs.
Its white whiskers are very sensitive. Sealeo will balance Spheal on the tip of its nose, checking its scent and its feel to be sure the Spheal is healthy.
Sealeo Weakness
VulnerableSealeo is weak to Electric, Grass, Fighting, and Rock-type moves. Thick Fat reduces Fire/Ice damage, further improving the defensive spread.
Partway through Spheal's chain. Sealeo still has another evolution ahead before reaching Walrein. For breeding, average hatch time with a massive partner pool via two egg groups. HP has grown the most so far (+20), but there's still another 120 stats to gain in the final evolution.
How to Evolve
Thickfat helps Sealeo stick around while dealing real damage. Leftovers for passive recovery each turn, a spread EV build EVs for the right balance, and Surf as the main threat. Not the fastest, but it doesn't need to be.

A solid spread overall. Sealeo gets Blizzard and Ice Beam for same-type damage alongside Rock and Ground coverage and more. It won't blow anyone away, but it doesn't leave you stuck either.
Level-Up Moves

Tutor Moves
Egg moves make a real difference. Sealeo gets Aqua Ring and Belly Drum exclusively through breeding, filling gaps that TMs and level-up can't touch. Rock and Normal coverage and more rounds out the picture alongside Blizzard and Surf.
Leveling does the heavy lifting. Sealeo picks up Surf and Blizzard along the way, building toward a complete offensive set. TMs add Rock and Normal coverage and more, but the foundation's already strong by then.

Sealeo is meant to evolve into Walrein. At 410 BST, the stats aren't there for competitive play yet. Pre-evolution Pokemon rarely hold up against fully evolved threats.
Thick Fat is what you want on Sealeo. Every competitive set worth running is built with that ability in mind. The alternatives (Ice Body, Oblivious) work on paper but Thick Fat is what makes Sealeo worth using.
Base 45 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go. On offense, Sealeo is a special attacker with base 75 Sp. Atk. Defensively? Enough bulk to take a hit or two.
Sealeo appears in 15 games, including Ruby & Sapphire, FireRed & LeafGreen, and Emerald.
Available in 15 titles since its debut in Ruby & Sapphire, Sealeo spans 7 generations of Pokemon games. It's accessible through catching or hatching as a base form in most mainline games.
