Is Talonflame Good in Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon Playthrough?
Fire/Flying with AbilityGale Wings giving priority to Flying moves, but only at full HP in Gen 7. The nerf from X and Y is significant. Still fast enough without the priority, and Fire handles Molayne's Steel E4 and Mina's Fairy trial. Just not the dominant force it used to be.
Fletchling has the type edge here and should clean up Ilima's team.
Fletchling trades roughly evenly with Hala's team.

Talonflame's Fire/Flying typing leaves it vulnerable to Rock, Water, and Electric. Rock hits land at 4x, so they're the biggest threat. It shrugs off Ground-type attacks completely. 6 resistances give it solid defensive coverage on top of that.

Its tough wings don’t allow fire to pass through them. A long time ago, firefighters’ outfits were made from Talonflame wings.
Bird Pokémon make up most of its diet. It approaches at high speeds and smacks them down to the ground with its powerful kick.
Talonflame Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon Guide
In Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon, Talonflame has a 499 base stat total and ranks as C-Tier: a niche pick in Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon's meta. It works best as a pivot. Bravebird with Leftovers is the standard set.
In Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon, watch for Rhyperior (Rock), Milotic (Water), and Jolteon (Electric) when using Talonflame. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Rhyperior is the most dangerous since Rock moves deal 4x damage. Talonflame's base 126 Speed lets it outpace many threats and strike first, which matters more than trying to tank hits.
Flame Body has a 30% chance of burning attacking Pokémon on contact. That's the one you want on Talonflame. Gale Wings is the hidden ability. Niche, but it has its uses.
In Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon, Talonflame fills the pivot role. It's a physical attacker with base 81 Attack. Base 126 Speed lets it outrun most of the field. And it's enough bulk to take a hit or two.
In Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon, run Bravebird, Flare Blitz, Roost, and Swords Dance on Talonflame. Bravebird is the most common pick at 0% usage. This set covers the pivot role with a mix of damage and utility.
Game Availability
Introduced in X & Y, Talonflame has appeared in 7 games across 5 generations. Later debuts mean fewer total appearances, but it's been a consistent presence since its introduction.
