Sharpedo punches above its weight class thanks to Speed Boost. It raises its Speed every turn it stays in, which is enough to make up for stats that don't impress on their own. Psychic moves can't touch it, which offsets the 4 weaknesses somewhat.
Attack leads and Defense gets almost nothing. That's Sharpedo's stat line in a nutshell. 3 stats sit in respectable range, but the spread is brutal. Moderately hard to find and yields 2 Attack EVs.
Nicknamed “the bully of the sea,” SHARPEDO is widely feared. Its cruel fangs grow back immediately if they snap off. Just one of these POKéMON can thoroughly tear apart a supertanker.
SHARPEDO can swim at speeds of up to 75 mph by jetting seawater out of its backside. This POKéMON’s drawback is its inability to swim long distances.
Sharpedo Weakness
GoodSharpedo's Water/Dark typing leaves it vulnerable to Electric, Grass, Fighting, and Bug moves. It shrugs off Psychic-type attacks completely. With 6 resistances, the defensive profile is strong. Sharpedo leans offensive (base 120 Atk) rather than trying to tank its weaknesses.
- Dark and Steel types added — Fairy does not exist yet
- Moves are Physical or Special based on type, not per move
Evolved from Carvanha. Sharpedo is the final form in this two-stage line. A decent partner pool for breeding via one egg group. Eggs are average hatch time. Attack grew the most through evolution (+30 over Carvanha), and Sharpedo peaks at 460 total stats.
How to Evolve
Breed with Sharpedo to get Carvanha eggs easily using 17 partners from the Water2 egg group. Notable egg moves include Double-Edge, Hydro Pump, Thrash.
Rough Skin isn't flashy, but it matters. Combined with Mysticwater for extra utility and max Sp. Atk and Speed EVs, Sharpedo fills the attacker slot reliably. Hasty nature finishes the spread.

Speed Boost changes the entire equation for Sharpedo. The 460 BST doesn't tell the full story. Ranked C-Tier as a cannon.
Carvanha evolves into Sharpedo at level 30. Sharpedo is the fully evolved form. It sits at 460 BST in its evolved form.
Speed Boost is what you want on Sharpedo. Every competitive set worth running is built with that ability in mind. The alternatives (Rough Skin) work on paper but Speed Boost is what makes Sharpedo worth using.
Base 95 Speed is workable — faster than some, slower than many. On offense, Sharpedo is a special attacker with base 95 Sp. Atk. Defensively? Fragile — can't afford to take many hits. Best used as a cannon.
