On paper, Medicham looks underwhelming. In practice, Pure Power doubles its effective Attack — and that's the whole story. Fighting/Psychic typing means only weak to Flying and Ghost. Known as the Meditate Pokemon. Part of the Gen 3 roster.
You won't find a real weakness in Medicham's stat line. It's well-rounded for the Meditate Pokemon, and what it does with that depends on moveset and items. Yields 2 Speed EVs, on a medium-fast 1M XP curve.
It elegantly avoids attacks with dance-like steps, then launches a devastating blow in the same motion.
Medicham Weakness
AvgMedicham is weak to Flying and Ghost-type moves. Not many exploitable gaps in the Fighting/Psychic typing defensive chart. Medicham's Fighting/Psychic typing only leaves 2 gaps to cover.
- Dark and Steel types added — Fairy does not exist yet
- Moves are Physical or Special based on type, not per move
Medicham is what Meditite becomes. Breed it for Meditite eggs (average hatch time). A decent partner pool for breeding via one egg group. Eggs are average hatch time. The evolution from Meditite pushed Medicham to 410 total stats. HP saw the largest single gain at +30.
How to Evolve
Breed with Medicham to get Meditite eggs easily using 28 partners from the Humanshape egg group. Notable egg moves include Baton Pass, Dynamic Punch, Fake Out and 4 more.
For a physical attacker, Medicham wants max Attack and Speed EVs and Salacberry. The Jolly nature tilts toward fast physical duty, and Pure Power contributes without taking a move slot.

Egg moves make a real difference. Medicham gets Baton Pass and Dynamic Punch exclusively through breeding, filling gaps that TMs and level-up can't touch. Normal and Fire coverage and more rounds out the picture alongside Focus Punch and High Jump Kick.

Medicham looks average on paper at 410 BST. But Pure Power is why it sees play — build around that and it pulls its weight. C-Tier on our tier list.
Medicham's biggest threats include Salamence (Flying) and Misdreavus (Ghost), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Only 2 weaknesses means fewer dedicated counters to worry about.
Meditite evolves into Medicham at level 37. Medicham is the fully evolved form. It sits at 410 BST in its evolved form.
Medicham gets Pure Power and Telepathy. But Pure Power is the one that matters — it's the centerpiece of every viable set. Build around that.
Medicham is leaning toward the physical side (base 60 Attack). Enough bulk to take a hit or two, too. But the speed tells the real story — base 80 Speed is workable — faster than some, slower than many.
Medicham appears in 15 games, including Ruby & Sapphire, FireRed & LeafGreen, and Emerald.
