Stats & Training
Magnemite's spread isn't flashy. Sp. Atk leads, HP trails, 1 stats clear the bar. Common in the wild and worth 1 Sp. Atk EV, on a medium-fast 1M XP curve.
The units at the sides of its body generate antigravity energy to keep it aloft in the air.
It moves while constantly hovering. It discharges Thunder Wave and so on from the units at its sides.
Magnemite Weakness
Ground, Fire, and Fighting moves hit Magnemite for super-effective damage. Ground hits land at 4x, so they're the biggest threat. The upside? Poison-type moves can't touch it at all. 11 resistances give it solid defensive coverage on top of that.
| Damage | Types |
|---|---|
| 4x (Critical) | Ground |
| 2x (Weak) | Fire, Fighting |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Normal, Electric, Grass, Ice, Psychic, Bug, Rock, Dragon, Fairy |
| 0.25x (Resist) | Flying, Steel |
| 0x (Immune) | Poison |
In X & Y, Garchomp can KO Magnemite with Earthquake (462-543%). Breloom's Mach Punch also KOs at 93-110%.

Magnemite Guide
Level 30 gets you Magneton. Not the fastest evolution, so consider Exp. Share or route grinding to speed it up.
In X & Y, Magnemite does the job early-game if you need a Electric/Steel type on your team. Evolve it into Magneton before the later gyms and it holds up fine through the story.
You can find Magnemite in X & Y. The Locations section has the full breakdown of routes and encounter details. It also appears in 20 other games across the series.
