Flareon Weakness
Flareon is weak to Water, Ground, and Rock. 5 resistances help offset the weaknesses. Flash Fire grants an additional Fire immunity, reshaping the matchup chart. Flareon's special bulk (base 110 Sp.Def) helps absorb special-type weaknesses, though physical moves exploit the lower Defense.
| Damage | Types |
|---|---|
| 2x (Weak) | Water, Ground, Rock |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Fire, Grass, Ice, Bug, Steel |
- Fairy type does not exist — Dragon has fewer checks
- Physical / Special split now per-move (introduced Gen IV)

Flareon Evolutions
Eevee's line splits into 7 evolutions, and Flareon is the item path. Each sibling form needs a different method to obtain. Breed through Eevee to get eggs. Flareon and Vaporeon share the same 525 total stats, but they're distributed differently. Check the comparison below to see where each one specializes. View every chain in the Evolution Chart.
How to Evolve
Breeding
Breed with Flareon to get Eevee eggs (with patience) using 181 partners from the Ground egg group. Notable egg moves include Charm, Covet, Curse and 10 more.
B2W2 Flareon Best Moveset
130 Attack is enormous but Fire TermStab options on the physical side are limited to MoveFlare Blitz recoil damage. 65 Speed goes last against most threats, and the moveset can't use the Attack stat safely. 110 Sp. Def absorbs special hits, but 60 Defense crumbles to physical attacks.

Moves List
Breeding opens up real options for Flareon. Charm and Covet come exclusively from egg moves, and they're worth the effort. The rest of the kit covers basics through Overheat and Fire Blast and coverage across 8 types.

Flareon Black 2 & White 2 Guide
In Black 2 & White 2, Flash Fire changes the entire equation for Flareon. The 525 BST doesn't tell the full story. Ranked C-Tier as a wallbreaker. Superpower with Toxic Orb is the standard set.
Flash Fire is what you want on Flareon. Every competitive set worth running is built with that ability in mind. The alternatives (Guts) work on paper but Flash Fire is what makes Flareon worth using. Flash Fire synergizes with Flareon's base 110 Sp.Def, letting it soak special attacks as a pivot.
At base 65 Speed, it won't be moving first often. On offense, Flareon is a mixed attacker with base 130 Attack and 95 Sp. Atk. Defensively? Enough bulk to take a hit or two. Best used as a wallbreaker.
For Black 2 & White 2, the core moveset is Superpower, Flamethrower, Facade, and Substitute. Superpower leads at 0% usage. Flamethrower provides reliable STAB damage.
