Legend says that on clear, quiet nights, it listens for the voices of its kin living on the moon. I, too, often think of my homeland, so far away.

Clefable Weakness

Clefable is weak to Poison and Steel. On the flip side, it's immune to Dragon-type moves entirely. With 95 HP and balanced defenses, Clefable can afford to eat a neutral hit or two.

Legends: Z-A Clefable Best Moveset

Clefable's job is getting Stealth Rock up and staying on the field. Leftovers provides passive recovery each turn, Magic Guard helps it stick around, and max HP and Sp. Def EVs prioritize longevity. Soft-Boiled keeps it healthy between hits.

How to Get Clefable in Legends: Z-A

No wild encounters for Clefable in Legends: Z-A. Bring Cleffa over from Crystal, Diamond, or Legends: Arceus, then level through the stages. Each step in the chain is laid out below.

How to Obtain Clefable in Legends: Z-A

  1. Cleffa
    Step 1Breed Cleffa from Clefairy
  2. Clefable
    Step 3Clefable

Clefable Guide

  • In Legends: Z-A, Don't let Clefable's 483 base stat total fool you. Magic Guard is what makes it tick. It punches way above its weight class. We rate it A-Tier. Moonblast with Leftovers is the standard set.

  • In Legends: Z-A, Clefable's biggest threats include Gengar (Poison) and Steelix (Steel), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Only 2 weaknesses means fewer dedicated counters to worry about.

  • In Legends: Z-A, Run Magic Guard on Clefable. It's the ability that defines how you build around it and the main reason it holds a competitive niche. Clefable also gets Cute Charm and Unaware, but they don't compare.

  • In Legends: Z-A, Clefable fills the balanced role. It's a special attacker with base 95 Sp. Atk. At base 60 Speed, it won't be moving first often. And it's enough bulk to take a hit or two.

  • In Legends: Z-A, the best way to handle Clefable: Super-effective STAB from faster Pokemon is the simplest answer. Poison and Steel-type attackers hit hardest.

Game Availability

Clefable has been part of the series since Red & Blue, appearing in 22 titles across all 10 generations. As a Gen 1 original, it's one of the most consistently available Pokemon in the franchise.
