Stats & Training
Clefable's spread isn't flashy. HP leads, Speed trails, 3 stats clear the bar. Very hard to catch and worth 3 HP EVs, on a fast 800K XP curve.
Rarely seen by people, it is said to be drawn by the full moon to play at deserted lakes.
Its hearing is so acute it can hear a pin drop over half a mile away. It lives on quiet mountains.
Clefable Weakness
Clefable is weak to Poison and Steel. On the flip side, it's immune to Dragon-type moves entirely. With 95 HP and balanced defenses, Clefable can afford to eat a neutral hit or two.

Clefable doesn't evolve through normal leveling. You'll need an evolution item to get here from Cleffa's line. Breed this form to get Cleffa eggs (quick to hatch). Evolving from Cleffa gave Clefable the biggest boost in Sp.Atk (+50), bringing the total to 483 stats. View every chain in the Evolution Chart.

Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl Clefable Best Moveset
This is a pure walling set. Leftovers provides passive recovery each turn so Clefable sticks around, and the Bold nature reinforces physical wall. Soft-Boiled handles sustain while Magic Guard does work passively.

Meteor Mash and Moonblast bring the raw damage. But Clefable also picks up coverage across 12 types from TMs, making it tough to find a safe switch. You're not locked into one angle here.

Clefable Guide
In Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, Don't let Clefable's 483 base stat total fool you. Magic Guard is what makes it tick. It punches way above its weight class. We rate it A-Tier. Moonblast with Leftovers is the standard set.
In Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, Run Magic Guard on Clefable. It's the ability that defines how you build around it and the main reason it holds a competitive niche. Clefable also gets Cute Charm and Unaware, but they don't compare.
In Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, Clefable fills the balanced role. It's a special attacker with base 95 Sp. Atk. At base 60 Speed, it won't be moving first often. And it's enough bulk to take a hit or two.
In Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, the best way to handle Clefable: Super-effective STAB from faster Pokemon is the simplest answer. Poison and Steel-type attackers hit hardest.
Game Availability
