The stat bars tell the story: Defense carries everything and Speed's dead weight. But this Bronze Bell Pokemon still yields 2 Defense and Sp. Def EVs per fight on a medium-fast 1M XP curve.

Pokedex Entries

In ages past, this Pokémon was revered as a bringer of rain. It was found buried in the ground.

Fire, Ground, Ghost, and Dark moves hit Bronzong for super-effective damage. The upside? Poison-type moves can't touch it at all. It resists 9 types, so it can switch into a lot of moves safely. Levitate grants an additional Ground immunity, reshaping the matchup chart. Bronzong's overall bulk (67/116/116) lets it take a hit or two from most weaknesses before going down.

The level-up pool is slim, so TMs matter here. Bronzong's coverage across 9 types all comes from technical machines, built on top of Steel Beam and Future Sight for same-type damage. Future Sight and Earthquake are the payoff moves.

or evolve from Bronzor (Step 1)
  • Bronzong looks average on paper at 500 BST. But Levitate is why it sees play. Build around that and it pulls its weight. A-Tier trick room on our tier list.

  • Watch for Arcanine (Fire), Swampert (Ground), and Misdreavus (Ghost) when using Bronzong. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Dark-type attackers are also a problem. At base 33 Speed, Bronzong won't outrun any of these threats so switching to a resist is usually the safer play.

  • Bronzong gets Levitate, Heatproof, and Heavy Metal. But Levitate is the one that matters. It's the centerpiece of every viable set. Build around that.

  • Bronzong is a mixed attacker with base 89 Attack and 79 Sp. Atk. Tanky enough to absorb a few hits, too. Speed tells the real story. Base 33 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go. Fits the trick room role.

  • Bronzong has answers, but so do you. Super-effective STAB from faster Pokemon is the simplest answer. Fire, Ground, and Ghost-type attackers hit hardest.

Debuting in Diamond & Pearl, Bronzong appears in 13 games across 7 generations. A reliable presence in a solid number of games, typically found through wild encounters.
