Stats & Training
The stat bars tell the story: Defense carries everything and Speed's dead weight. But this Bronze Bell Pokemon still yields 2 Defense and Sp. Def EVs per fight on a medium-fast 1M XP curve.
One caused a news sensation when it was dug up at a construction site after a 2,000-year sleep.
It can summon rain clouds. People long ago revered it as the bringer of plentiful harvests.
Bronzong Weakness
Fire and Ground moves hit Bronzong for super-effective damage. The upside? Poison-type moves can't touch it at all. It resists 8 types, so it can switch into a lot of moves safely. Levitate grants an additional Ground immunity, reshaping the matchup chart. Bronzong's overall bulk (67/116/116) lets it take a hit or two from most weaknesses before going down.
| Damage | Types |
|---|---|
| 2x (Weak) | Fire, Ground |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Normal, Grass, Ice, Flying, Rock, Dragon, Steel |
| 0.25x (Resist) | Psychic |
| 0x (Immune) | Poison |
- Fairy type does not exist — Dragon has fewer checks
- Physical / Special split now per-move (introduced Gen IV)

Breeding
Bronzong is genderless — breed with Ditto to produce Bronzor eggs. Part of the Mineral egg group.
Diamond & Pearl Bronzong Best Moveset
Bulk and offense in one package. Bronzong runs Leftovers for passive recovery each turn with a Brave nature, so it survives long enough to threaten with Gyroball. Max HP and Attack EVs and Normal and Ground coverage make it hard to safely switch into.

The level-up pool is slim, so TMs matter here. Bronzong's coverage across 8 types all comes from technical machines, built on top of Future Sight and Dream Eater for same-type damage. Future Sight and Dream Eater are the payoff moves.

Bronzong Guide
In Diamond & Pearl, Bronzong looks average on paper at 500 BST. But Levitate is why it sees play. Build around that and it pulls its weight. A-Tier trick room on our tier list. Gyroball with Leftovers is the standard set.
In Diamond & Pearl, watch for Arcanine (Fire) and Swampert (Ground) when using Bronzong. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Only 2 weaknesses means fewer dedicated counters to worry about. At base 33 Speed, Bronzong won't outrun any of these threats so switching to a resist is usually the safer play.
Bronzong gets Levitate, Heatproof, and Heavy Metal. But Levitate is the one that matters. It's the centerpiece of every viable set. Build around that.
Bronzong is a physical attacker with base 89 Attack. Tanky enough to absorb a few hits, too. Speed tells the real story. Base 33 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go. Fits the trick room role.
For Diamond & Pearl, Bronzong has answers, but so do you. Super-effective STAB from faster Pokemon is the simplest answer. Fire and Ground-type attackers hit hardest.
