Stats & Training
Beedrill's spread isn't flashy. Attack leads, Defense trails, 2 stats clear the bar. Tough to catch and worth 3 Attack and Sp. Def EVs, on a medium-fast 1M XP curve.
May appear in a swarm. Flies at violent speeds, all the while stabbing with the toxic stinger on its rear.
It flies at high speed and attacks using the large venomous stingers on its forelegs and tail.
Beedrill Weakness
Beedrill's Bug/Poison typing leaves it vulnerable to Fire, Flying, Psychic, and Rock. It resists 4 types, giving it decent defensive coverage. Beedrill's special bulk (base 80 Sp.Def) helps absorb special-type weaknesses, though physical moves exploit the lower Defense.
| Damage | Types |
|---|---|
| 2x (Weak) | Fire, Flying, Psychic, Rock |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Poison, Bug |
| 0.25x (Resist) | Grass, Fighting |
- Dark and Steel types added — Fairy does not exist yet
- Moves are Physical or Special based on type, not per move
In FireRed & LeafGreen, Salamence can KO Beedrill with Rock Slide (105-124%). Aerodactyl threatens a KO with Rock Slide (238-280%). Starmie deals 54-64% with Surf.

Moves
Without TMs, Beedrill's movepool is bare bones. With them, you get Normal and Dark coverage and more on top of Sludge Bomb and Twineedle for STAB. The natural kit handles basics, but TMs are doing the real work.

Beedrill Guide
In FireRed & LeafGreen, Beedrill has a 385 base stat total and ranks as C-Tier: a niche pick in FireRed & LeafGreen's meta. It works best as a balanced. Sludge Bomb with Salacberry is the standard set.
Mega Evolution isn't available in FireRed & LeafGreen, but Beedrill does have a Mega form in Gen 6-7 games (X/Y, ORAS, Sun/Moon). Mega Beedrill hits 485 BST.
Swarm strengthens bug moves to inflict 1.5× damage at 1/3 max HP or less. That's the one you want on Beedrill. Sniper is the hidden ability. Niche, but it has its uses.
In FireRed & LeafGreen, Beedrill fills the balanced role. It's a physical attacker with base 80 Attack. Base 75 Speed is workable. Faster than some, slower than many.
Game Availability
Beedrill first appeared in Red & Blue and spans 19 games across 10 generations. It later gained a Mega form in Generation 7, adding new dimensions to its competitive identity.
