On paper, Meowstic looks underwhelming. In practice, Prankster gives priority to its status moves — and that's the whole story. Psychic typing means only weak to Bug, Ghost, and Dark. Known as the Constraint Pokemon. Its damage comes from the special side.

Meowstic's spread isn't flashy. Speed leads, Attack trails, 3 stats clear the bar. Moderately hard to find and worth 2 Speed EVs, on a medium-fast 1M XP curve.

If it doesn’t hold back when it unleashes its psychic power, it can tear apart a tanker. Its unfriendliness is part of its charm.

No wild encounters for Meowstic in Scarlet & Violet. Bring Espurr over from X or Sword, then level through the stages. Each step in the chain is laid out below.

How to Obtain Meowstic in Scarlet & Violet

  1. Espurr
    Step 1Obtain Espurr

  2. Meowstic
    Step 2Meowstic
  • Don't let Meowstic's 466 base stat total fool you. Prankster is what makes it tick — it punches way above its weight class. We rate it B-Tier as a pivot.

  • Meowstic's biggest threats include Scyther (Bug), Aegislash (Ghost), and Tyranitar (Dark), all carrying super-effective STAB moves.

  • Espurr evolves into Meowstic at level 25. Meowstic is the fully evolved form. It sits at 466 BST in its evolved form.

  • Run Prankster on Meowstic. It's the ability that defines how you build around it and the main reason it holds a competitive niche. Meowstic also gets Keen Eye and Infiltrator, but they don't compare.

  • Meowstic fills the pivot role. It's leaning toward the special side (base 83 Sp. Atk). Base 104 Speed lets it outrun most of the field. And it's enough bulk to take a hit or two.

  • Meowstic appears in 7 games, including X & Y, Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, and Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon.

Meowstic first appeared in X & Y and spans 7 games across 4 generations. It later gained a Mega form in Generation 6, adding new dimensions to its competitive identity.
