Flygon's Ground/Dragon typing gives it an immunity to Electric. Only 3 weaknesses on top of that — it has plenty of safe switch-in opportunities. Levitate adds more value on top. Flexible enough to run physical or special sets. A competitive option since Gen 3.
Flygon's stats barely vary. 6 sit in respectable range with no real gaps. It's a blank slate for EV investment. Worth 3 Attack and Speed EVs, 1.06M XP medium-slow curve to max.
It whips up sandstorms with powerful flaps of its wings. It is known as the Desert Spirit.
Flygon Weakness
AvgType-wise, Flygon takes extra damage from Ice, Dragon, and Fairy. Watch out for Ice attacks, those deal 4x damage. Electric moves do nothing thanks to a full immunity. Levitate grants an additional Ground immunity, reshaping the matchup chart. With 80 HP and balanced defenses, Flygon can afford to eat a neutral hit or two.
Flygon is the final form in a three-stage chain from Trapinch through Vibrava. Breeding this form produces Trapinch eggs (average hatch time). Evolving from Trapinch gave Flygon the biggest boost in Speed (+90), bringing the total to 520 stats.
How to Evolve
One boost from Dragon Dance and Flygon gets dangerous fast. The Jolly nature targets max Attack and Speed, and Levitate backs the whole approach. Earthquake and double STAB handle most of what's left standing.

Don't let Flygon's 520 base stat total fool you. Levitate is what makes it tick — it punches way above its weight class. We rate it A-Tier as a sweeper.
Run Levitate on Flygon. It's the ability that defines how you build around it and the main reason it holds a competitive niche. With base 100 Speed, Levitate gives Flygon an edge before opponents can react.
Flygon fills the sweeper role. It's a physical attacker with base 100 Attack. Base 100 Speed lets it outrun most of the field. And it's enough bulk to take a hit or two.
