The mage is the master of powerful offensive magic and has a host of other unique abilities. They exist to blast monsters from range. In fact, in this role, they are unrivalled by all classes. Only the rogue can hope to approach the massive amount of damage the mage can deal out, and even then, the rogue must get to within melee range to do so.
Mage Class Best Race
Based on Base stats, Racial Traits and viability in PVP and PVE content we consider Gnome for Alliance and Undead for Horde to be the Mage Class Best Race. Humans and Trolls are also a good second choice if you prefer those racial traits.
- Best – Gnome, Undead
- Average – Humans, Troll
- Weak –
- Not Available – Night Elf, Orc, Tauren, Dwarves
WoW Classic Mage Best Weapon To Use
List of WoW Classic Mage Weapons you can use, you may have to visit your trainer to learn the ability to use these weapons.
- Common Weapon Skills – Staves, Unarmed, Wands
- Advanced Weapon Skills – Daggers, One-Handed Swords
- Armor Type You Can Use – Cloth
Best Profession For Mage
The best profession for mage class is between two choices and each will provide something for this class. Tailoring, of course, you can make cloth armour, which can provide you with mage gear and also pairs naturally with the Enchanting Profession. Alchemy allows you to make even more options for restoring mana and health then already would have as a mage, Herbalism is a must to pair with Alchemy as you will need lots of herbs regularly for your potions.
- Best – Alchemy + Herbalism OR Enchanting + Tailoring
World of Warcraft Classic Mage Class Talent Spec
Mage Spec Roles
List of the Roles you can fill as this Class, Mages can only fill one role and that’s DPS. It just so happens that they are among the best within the DPS Role to the point of being able to Solo Level effectively thanks to their CC and DPS.
- Mage DPS Spec – Frost, Arcane, Fire
- Mage Healer Spec – N/A
- Mage Tank Spec – N/A
Best Mage Class Spec
We consider Frost to be the overall best talent spec for the mage class, this is mostly due to its ability to be effectively used in both PVP and PVE content. It also our recommended levelling spec for the mage class as it allows you to kite mobs easily. Fire Spec is also a really fun talent build for PVP Bursting enemies, but you will have long cooldowns before you can one-shot someone again. Arcane can be used and isn’t completely weak it just gets outshined by how good both Fire and Frost Spec are in comparison.
- Best Mage Spec – Frost
- Average Spec – Arcane, Fire
- Weak Spec –
