Wormadam Weakness
Fire moves hit Wormadam for super-effective damage. Fire hits land at 4x, so they're the biggest threat. The upside? Poison-type moves can't touch it at all. It resists 9 types, so it can switch into a lot of moves safely. With 60 HP and balanced defenses, Wormadam can afford to eat a neutral hit or two.
| Damage | Types |
|---|---|
| 4x (Critical) | Fire |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Normal, Ice, Psychic, Bug, Ghost, Dragon, Dark, Steel |
| 0.25x (Resist) | Grass |
| 0x (Immune) | Poison |
- Fairy type does not exist — Dragon has fewer checks
- Physical / Special split now per-move (introduced Gen IV)

Moves List
The level-up pool is slim, so TMs matter here. Wormadam's Normal and Psychic coverage and more all comes from technical machines, built on top of Iron Head and Flash Cannon for same-type damage. Psychic and Dream Eater are the payoff moves.

Wormadam HeartGold & SoulSilver Guide
In HeartGold & SoulSilver, watch for Arcanine (Fire) when using Wormadam. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Arcanine is the most dangerous since Fire moves deal 4x damage. Only 1 weakness means fewer dedicated counters to worry about. At base 36 Speed, Wormadam won't outrun any of these threats so switching to a resist is usually the safer play.
For HeartGold & SoulSilver, it depends on your team. Wormadam at 424 BST isn't a powerhouse, but the Bug/Steel coverage might be exactly what you're missing.
In HeartGold & SoulSilver, Wormadam brings 424 BST to the table. C-Tier on our list: a niche pick in HeartGold & SoulSilver's meta. Signalbeam with Leftovers is the standard set.
Anticipation notifies all trainers upon entering battle if an opponent has a super-effective move, self destruct, explosion, or a one-hit KO move. That's the one you want on Wormadam. It's the only ability Wormadam has.
Wormadam is a special attacker with base 69 Sp. Atk. Enough bulk to take a hit or two, too. Speed tells the real story. Base 36 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go.
