Beautifly's Bug/Flying typing gives it an immunity to Ground. The 5 weaknesses are the tradeoff, but that immunity creates real opportunities. Relies on priority moves or Scarf to keep up. Known as the Butterfly Pokemon.

Beautifly's built around special offense. Sp. Atk leads the charge, Defense pays for it. Tough to catch, worth 3 Sp. Atk EVs. Follows a medium-fast 1M XP curve.

Beautifly Weakness

Vulnerable

Beautifly's Bug/Flying typing leaves it vulnerable to Rock, Fire, Electric, Ice, and Flying moves. Rock hits land at 4x, so they're the biggest threat. It shrugs off Ground-type attacks completely.

Without TMs, Beautifly's movepool is bare bones. With them, you get coverage across 7 types on top of Bug Buzz and Signal Beam for STAB. The natural kit handles basics, but TMs are doing the real work.

or evolve from Silcoon (Step 2)
  • Beautifly has a 395 base stat total and ranks as C-Tier — a situational pick that fills a niche. It works best as an attacker. Base 100 Sp. Atk is where it shines.

  • Watch for Golem (Rock), Charizard (Fire), and Raikou (Electric) when using Beautifly. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Golem is the most dangerous since Rock moves deal 4x damage. Ice and Flying-type attackers are also a problem. With 5 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter.

  • Silcoon evolves into Beautifly at level 10. Beautifly is the final evolution in a 5-stage line starting from Wurmple.

  • Swarm strengthens bug moves to inflict 1.5× damage at 1/3 max HP or less — that's the one you want on Beautifly. Rivalry is the hidden ability. Niche, but it has its uses.

  • Beautifly fills the attacker role. It's leaning toward the special side (base 100 Sp. Atk). At base 65 Speed, it won't be moving first often. And it's fragile — can't afford to take many hits.

  • Beautifly appears in 14 games, including Ruby & Sapphire, FireRed & LeafGreen, and Emerald.

Beautifly first appeared in Ruby & Sapphire and has been available in 14 games across 7 generations. Obtainable through wild encounters in most titles where it appears.
