Stats & Training
The stat line revolves around HP. Percentage recovery gets extra mileage here. Attack backs it up, though Speed doesn't pull its weight. Worth 2 HP stat exp on a slow 1.25M XP grind to max out.
Very lazy. Just eats and sleeps. As its rotund bulk builds, it becomes steadily more slothful.

Snorlax Weakness
Snorlax's Normal typing leaves it vulnerable to Fighting. It shrugs off Ghost-type attacks completely. Snorlax's overall bulk (160/65/65) lets it take a hit or two from most weaknesses before going down.
| Damage | Types |
|---|---|
| 2x (Weak) | Fighting |
| 0x (Immune) | Ghost |
- Only 15 types exist — Dark, Steel, and Fairy are absent
- Ghost has no effect on Psychic (a known bug, fixed in Gen II)
- Special stat governs both offense and defense — no Sp.Atk / Sp.Def split

Snorlax Guide
In Red & Blue, Snorlax works as a support with 495 BST behind it. S-Tier on our list: one of the best picks in the Red & Blue meta. Body Slam anchors the moveset.
In Red & Blue, watch for Hitmonlee (Fighting) when using Snorlax. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Only 1 weakness means fewer dedicated counters to worry about. At base 30 Speed, Snorlax won't outrun any of these threats so switching to a resist is usually the safer play.
Snorlax is a physical attacker with base 110 Attack. Tanky enough to absorb a few hits, too. Speed tells the real story. Base 30 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go. Fits the support role.
For Red & Blue, Snorlax has answers, but so do you. Super-effective STAB from faster Pokemon is the simplest answer. Fighting-type attackers hit hardest.
In Red & Blue, run Body Slam, Rest, Self Destruct, and Earthquake on Snorlax. Body Slam is the most common pick at 23% usage. This set covers the support role with a mix of damage and utility.
