Ghost moves don't affect Exeggutor at all — that's the advantage of Grass/Psychic typing. It relies on good prediction to keep up. Known as the Coconut Pokemon. The stat spread leans into special offense.
Special and HP carry most of Exeggutor's stat budget. Speed's the obvious dump stat. Tough to catch and yields 2 Special stat exp. Follows a slow 1.25M XP grind.
Legend has it that on rare occasions, one of its heads will drop off and continue on as an EXEGGCUTE.
Exeggutor Weakness
AvgExeggutor's Grass/Psychic typing leaves it vulnerable to Fire, Ice, Poison, Flying, and Bug moves. It shrugs off Ghost-type attacks completely. With 6 resistances, the defensive profile is strong. Exeggutor's special bulk (base 125 Special) helps absorb special-type weaknesses, though physical moves exploit the lower Defense.
- Only 15 types exist — Dark, Steel, and Fairy are absent
- Ghost has no effect on Psychic (a known bug, fixed in Gen II)
- Special stat governs both offense and defense — no Sp.Atk / Sp.Def split
The Grass/Psychic-type Exeggutor caps Exeggcute's chain at 580 stats. No daycare options for this one. Special grew the most through evolution (+80 over Exeggcute), and Exeggutor peaks at 580 total stats.

Step 2Exeggutor ✓
We rate Exeggutor S-Tier — one of the best competitive options available. At 580 BST, it fits the wallbreaker role. Base 125 Special stands out.
Watch for Arcanine (Fire), Lapras (Ice), and Nidoking (Poison) when using Exeggutor. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Flying and Bug-type attackers are also a problem. With 5 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter. Exeggutor has enough bulk to absorb a hit, but don't push the matchup. Pivot to a teammate that resists.
At base 55 Speed, it won't be moving first often. On offense, Exeggutor is a special attacker with base 125 Special. Defensively? Tanky enough to absorb a few hits. Best used as a wallbreaker.
Exeggutor appears in 20 games, including Yellow, Red & Blue, and Gold & Silver.
Since debuting in Red & Blue, Exeggutor has appeared in 20 titles over 9 generations. Along the way, it received an Alolan form in Generation 7, keeping it relevant across different competitive metas.
