Stats & Training
Sp. Atk and HP carry most of Exeggutor's stat budget. Speed's the obvious dump stat. Tough to catch and yields 2 Sp. Atk EVs. Follows a slow 1.25M XP grind.
Its three heads think independently. However, they are friendly and never appear to squabble.
If a head drops off, it emits a telepathic call in search of others to form an EXEGGCUTE cluster.
Exeggutor Weakness
Exeggutor's Grass/Psychic typing leaves it vulnerable to Bug, Fire, Ice, Poison, Flying, Ghost, and Dark. Bug hits land at 4x, so they're the biggest threat. With 6 resistances, the defensive profile is strong.
| Damage | Types |
|---|---|
| 4x (Critical) | Bug |
| 2x (Weak) | Fire, Ice, Poison, Flying, Ghost, Dark |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Water, Electric, Grass, Fighting, Ground, Psychic |
- Fairy type does not exist — Dragon has fewer checks
- Physical / Special split now per-move (introduced Gen IV)
In HeartGold & SoulSilver, Infernape can KO Exeggutor with Fire Blast (95-111%). Dragonite threatens a KO with Outrage (99-117%). Gengar's Shadow Ball also KOs at 146-172%.

Exeggutor Guide
In HeartGold & SoulSilver, Chlorophyll changes the entire equation for Exeggutor. The 530 BST doesn't tell the full story. Ranked C-Tier as a wallbreaker. Leaf Storm with Life Orb is the standard set.
In HeartGold & SoulSilver, watch for Pinsir (Bug), Arcanine (Fire), and Lapras (Ice) when using Exeggutor. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Pinsir is the most dangerous since Bug moves deal 4x damage. Poison, Flying, Ghost, and Dark-type attackers are also a problem. With 7 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter.
Chlorophyll is what you want on Exeggutor. Every competitive set worth running is built with that ability in mind. The alternatives (Harvest) work on paper but Chlorophyll is what makes Exeggutor worth using.
At base 55 Speed, it won't be moving first often. On offense, Exeggutor is a mixed attacker with base 95 Attack and 125 Sp. Atk. Defensively? Enough bulk to take a hit or two. Best used as a wallbreaker.
In HeartGold & SoulSilver, run Leaf Storm, Explosion, Sleep Powder, and Psychic on Exeggutor. Leaf Storm is the most common pick at 16% usage. Psychic provides reliable STAB damage.
