Everything pushes toward physical damage here. Scolipede's Speed does the work, Sp. Atk pays the price. But you're still getting 3 Speed EVs per KO. Tough to catch, on a 1.06M XP medium-slow curve.
Scolipede latches on to its prey with the claws on its neck before slamming them into the ground and jabbing them with its claws’ toxic spikes.
Scolipede engage in fierce territorial battles with Centiskorch. At the end of one of these battles, the victor makes a meal of the loser.
Fire, Flying, Psychic, and Rock moves hit Scolipede for super-effective damage. The Bug/Poison typing picks up 5 resistances to work with. Scolipede leans offensive (base 100 Atk) rather than trying to tank its weaknesses.

Moves
The level-up pool tells the story here. Scolipede learns Take Down and Iron Tail naturally, plus enough variety that TMs feel like bonuses. Rock and Normal coverage and more extends the reach beyond that.

Tutor Moves
The level-up pool is slim, so TMs matter here. Scolipede's coverage across 8 types all comes from technical machines, built on top of Megahorn and Sludge Bomb for same-type damage. Take Down and Double-Edge are the payoff moves.
Don't skip the egg moves. Scolipede picks up Pin Missile and Rock Climb only through breeding, and both fill gaps the natural movepool can't. STAB runs through Megahorn and Sludge Bomb while coverage across 8 types adds range.

Scolipede looks average on paper at 485 BST. But Speed Boost is why it sees play. Build around that and it pulls its weight. B-Tier sweeper on our tier list.
Watch for Charizard (Fire), Aerodactyl (Flying), and Espeon (Psychic) when using Scolipede. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Rock-type attackers are also a problem. Scolipede's base 112 Speed lets it outpace many threats and strike first, which matters more than trying to tank hits.
Scolipede gets Speed Boost, Poison Point, and Swarm. But Speed Boost is the one that matters. It's the centerpiece of every viable set. Build around that. With base 112 Speed, Speed Boost gives Scolipede an edge before opponents can react.
Scolipede is a physical attacker with base 100 Attack. Enough bulk to take a hit or two, too. Speed tells the real story. Base 112 Speed lets it outrun most of the field. Fits the sweeper role.
Run Swords Dance, Earthquake, Megahorn, and Protect on Scolipede. Swords Dance is the most common pick at 19% usage. Megahorn provides reliable STAB damage.
Since Black & White, Scolipede has been obtainable in 8 games. A Generation 5 debut means a shorter history, but Scolipede has appeared steadily across every generation since.
