Between Speed Boost and Bug/Poison typing, Scolipede carves out a strong competitive niche. It raises its Speed every turn it stays in, which gives it an edge most Pokemon in its stat range don't have. The stat spread favors raw physical power.
Everything pushes toward physical damage here. Scolipede's Speed does the work, Sp. Atk pays the price. But you're still getting 3 Speed EVs per KO. Tough to catch, on a 1.06M XP medium-slow curve.
Scolipede latches on to its prey with the claws on its neck before slamming them into the ground and jabbing them with its claws’ toxic spikes.
Scolipede engage in fierce territorial battles with Centiskorch. At the end of one of these battles, the victor makes a meal of the loser.
Scolipede Weakness
AvgFire, Flying, Psychic, and Rock-type moves hit Scolipede for super-effective damage. The Bug/Poison typing picks up 5 resistances to work with. Scolipede leans offensive (base 100 Atk) rather than trying to tank its weaknesses.
The three-stage chain from Venipede through Whirlipede ends here at Scolipede. Want more? Breed for Venipede eggs. No compatible partners available via one egg group. The evolution from Venipede pushed Scolipede to 485 total stats. Attack saw the largest single gain at +55.
How to Evolve
Breed with Scolipede to get Venipede eggs easily from the Bug egg group.
Scolipite buys the setup turn. Scolipede clicks Swords Dance, then starts cleaning with Megahorn and Ground coverage. Adamant nature with max Attack and Speed EVs makes sure nothing tanks a boosted hit comfortably.

The level-up pool tells the story here. Scolipede learns Take Down and Iron Tail naturally, plus enough variety that TMs feel like bonuses. Rock and Normal coverage and more extends the reach beyond that.

Scolipede isn't available in the wild in Legends: Z-A. Start by transferring Venipede from Black, Black 2, or Sword. The evolution path from Venipede to Scolipede is covered in the steps below.
Scolipede looks average on paper at 485 BST. But Speed Boost is why it sees play — build around that and it pulls its weight. B-Tier sweeper on our tier list.
Watch for Charizard (Fire), Aerodactyl (Flying), and Espeon (Psychic) when using Scolipede. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Rock-type attackers are also a problem. Scolipede's base 112 Speed lets it outpace many threats and strike first, which matters more than trying to tank hits.
Whirlipede evolves into Scolipede at level 30. Scolipede is the final evolution in a 3-stage line starting from Venipede. At 485 BST, it's got solid stats to work with.
Scolipede gets Speed Boost, Poison Point, and Swarm. But Speed Boost is the one that matters — it's the centerpiece of every viable set. Build around that. With base 112 Speed, Speed Boost gives Scolipede an edge before opponents can react.
Scolipede is a physical attacker with base 100 Attack. Enough bulk to take a hit or two, too. But the speed tells the real story — base 112 Speed lets it outrun most of the field. Fits the sweeper role.
Scolipede appears in 8 games, including Black & White, Black 2 & White 2, and X & Y.
Since Black & White, Scolipede has been obtainable in 8 games. A Generation 5 debut means a shorter history, but Scolipede has appeared steadily across every generation since.
