    • Machop becomes Machoke at level 28, then Machamp by trading. Straight three-stage line with no branching.

    • Machop evolves into Machoke at level 28. Takes some grinding. Plan your team around the mid-game wait.

    • In Red & Blue, Machop does the job early-game if you need a Fighting type on your team. Evolve it into Machoke before the later gyms and it holds up fine through the story.
