Hakamo-o's spread isn't flashy. Defense leads, HP trails, 1 stats clear the bar. Tough to catch and worth 2 Defense EVs, on a slow 1.25M XP grind.
The scaleless, scarred parts of its body are signs of its strength. It shows them off to defeated opponents.
Before attacking its enemies, it clashes its scales together and roars. Its sharp claws shred the opposition.
Hakamo O's Dragon/Fighting typing leaves it vulnerable to Fairy, Ice, Flying, Psychic, and Dragon. Fairy hits land at 4x, so they're the biggest threat. 7 resistances give it solid defensive coverage on top of that.
| Damage | Types |
|---|---|
| 4x (Critical) | Fairy |
| 2x (Weak) | Ice, Flying, Psychic, Dragon |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Fire, Water, Electric, Grass, Bug, Rock, Dark |
Duraludon can KO Hakamo O with Draco Meteor (111-131%). Metagross's Psychic Fangs hits Hakamo O for 78-92%. Clefable's Moonblast also KOs at 114-134%.

Hakamo O is the middle stage between Jangmo O and Kommo O. It's a three-stage line with one more evolution to go. For breeding, takes forever to hatch with plenty of partners via one egg group. So far, Defense got the biggest boost (+25 from Jangmo O). View every chain in the Evolution Chart.
How to Evolve
Still unevolved, still relevant. Hakamo O's Eviolite bulk with max HP and Defense EVs creates a defensive profile that punches above its stage. Bulletproof adds passive value. Drain Punch gives it offensive presence.

Without TMs, Hakamo O's movepool is bare bones. With them, you get coverage across 8 types on top of Focus Punch and Draco Meteor for STAB. The natural kit handles basics, but TMs are doing the real work.

The natural movepool does the job, but Counter and Dragon Breath from the egg pool give Hakamo O something extra. Pair those with Focus Punch and Outrage for STAB and coverage across 7 types for reach, and the kit fills out nicely.

Hakamo-o isn't fully evolved, so it's not built for competitive play. At 420 BST, it's a stepping stone rather than a team anchor.
Watch for Sylveon (Fairy), Weavile (Ice), and Braviary (Flying) when using Hakamo-o. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Sylveon is the most dangerous since Fairy moves deal 4x damage. Psychic and Dragon-type attackers are also a problem. With 5 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter.
Bulletproof protects against bullet, ball, and bomb-based moves. That's the one you want on Hakamo-o. Overcoat is the hidden ability. Niche, but it has its uses. Soundproof works too if your team needs something different.
Hakamo-o fills the balanced role. It's a physical attacker with base 75 Attack. At base 65 Speed, it won't be moving first often. And it's enough bulk to take a hit or two.
Introduced in Sun & Moon, Hakamo O has appeared in 4 games across 4 generations. Later debuts mean fewer total appearances, but it's been a consistent presence since its introduction.
