Stats & Training
Raw HP carries Guzzlord's bulk more than the defenses do. Speed barely registers. But that HP pool covers for it. A tough to catch Junkivore Pokemon that yields 3 HP EVs on a slow 1.25M XP grind.
Although it’s alien to this world and a danger here, it’s apparently a common organism in the world where it normally lives.
An unknown life-form called a UB. It may be constantly hungry—it is certainly always devouring something.
Guzzlord Weakness
Guzzlord's Dark/Dragon typing leaves it vulnerable to Fairy, Ice, Fighting, Bug, and Dragon. Fairy hits land at 4x, so they're the biggest threat. It shrugs off Psychic-type attacks completely. With 6 resistances, the defensive profile is strong. Guzzlord's overall bulk (223/53/53) lets it take a hit or two from most weaknesses before going down.
| Damage | Types |
|---|---|
| 4x (Critical) | Fairy |
| 2x (Weak) | Ice, Fighting, Bug, Dragon |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Fire, Water, Electric, Grass, Ghost, Dark |
| 0x (Immune) | Psychic |
In Sword & Shield, Garchomp's Earthquake hits Guzzlord for 46-54%. Weavile deals 35-41% with Ice Shard.

Beastboost helps Guzzlord stick around while dealing real damage. Leftovers for passive recovery each turn, spread EVs for the right balance, and Crunch as the main threat. Not the fastest, but it doesn't need to be.

How to Get Guzzlord in Sword & Shield
Guzzlord Guide
For Sword & Shield, we rate Guzzlord C-Tier: a niche pick in Sword & Shield's meta. At 570 BST, it fits the tank role. Crunch with Leftovers is the standard set.
In Sword & Shield, watch for Mimikyu (Fairy), Kyurem (Ice), and Machamp (Fighting) when using Guzzlord. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Mimikyu is the most dangerous since Fairy moves deal 4x damage. Bug and Dragon-type attackers are also a problem. With 5 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter. Guzzlord has enough bulk to absorb a hit, but don't push the matchup. Pivot to a teammate that resists.
Beast Boost raises this Pokémon's highest stat by one stage when it faints another Pokémon. That's the one you want on Guzzlord. It's the only ability Guzzlord has.
Base 43 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go. On offense, Guzzlord is a physical attacker with base 101 Attack. Defensively? Tanky enough to absorb a few hits. Best used as a tank.
For Sword & Shield, Guzzlord has answers, but so do you. Status moves (Toxic, Will-O-Wisp) wear it down. Setup sweepers can use it as a boost opportunity. Special attackers bypass its physical bulk.
