High risk, high reward with Xurkitree. The offense is outstanding but the bulk won't survive much — 71 base Defense is the weak link. Only weak to Ground. Introduced in Gen 7. It needs some investment to avoid getting outsped.
Sp. Atk leads and Defense gets almost nothing. That's Xurkitree's stat line in a nutshell. 4 stats sit in respectable range, but the spread is brutal. Tough to catch and yields 3 Sp. Atk EVs.

Xurkitree Weakness
GoodXurkitree is weak to Ground-type moves. Few weaknesses and 3 resistances make the typing clean. With 83 HP and balanced defenses, Xurkitree can afford to eat a neutral hit or two.
Xurkitree is a Electric type packing 570 total stats. Can't breed it and it doesn't evolve, so what you catch is what you work with.
How to Evolve
You commit to a move every time Xurkitree comes in. Choice Scarf gives speed patching through item lock, and Beastboost adds to that. Max Sp. Atk and Speed EVs make sure the locked move actually hurts. The remaining moves covers the rest.

Leveling does the heavy lifting. Xurkitree picks up Thunderbolt and Power Whip along the way, building toward a complete offensive set. TMs add Normal and Grass coverage and more, but the foundation's already strong by then.

Beast Boost is the go-to ability for Xurkitree. It raises this Pokémon's highest stat by one stage when it faints another Pokémon. It's Xurkitree's only ability.
Base 83 Speed is workable — faster than some, slower than many. On offense, Xurkitree is a special attacker with base 173 Sp. Atk. Defensively? Enough bulk to take a hit or two. Best used as a cannon.
