Giratina Weakness
Giratina's Ghost/Dragon typing leaves it vulnerable to Ice, Ghost, Dragon, Dark, and Fairy. It shrugs off Normal and Fighting-type attacks completely. With 6 resistances, the defensive profile is strong. Levitate grants an additional Ground immunity, reshaping the matchup chart. Giratina's overall bulk (150/100/100) lets it take a hit or two from most weaknesses before going down.

150 HP and 120/120 balanced defenses on Ghost/Dragon with AbilityPressure forcing double PP. Held ItemLeftovers with NatureImpish creates one of the most durable defensive walls available. The moveset absorbs damage from both sides through sheer bulk and fires back with 100/100 mixed offenses. S-Tier through raw survivability behind elite HP and defenses.

Moves List
Breadth over depth defines this movepool. Giratina won't stack one type's damage ceiling, but coverage across 12 types means it always has an effective option. Draco Meteor and Shadow Force anchor the STAB core.

A small dot on the icon's corner marks the move as contact. That triggers abilities like Static, Flame Body, Rough Skin, or Iron Barbs, plus items like Rocky Helmet and Sticky Barb.
Tier (S to D)
Each move's competitive rank in RankedBoost's system. TM, Egg, and Tutor sort by tier by default (best first). On Level-Up, click the Tier header to do the same.
PWR (Power)
Base damage. Numbers shown in a type color include STAB (base × 1.5). Hover any colored number to see the math.

Base Stats
Raw HP carries Giratina's bulk more than the defenses do. Speed barely registers. But that HP pool covers for it. A near-impossible to catch Renegade Pokemon that yields 3 HP EVs on a slow 1.25M XP grind.
Giratina Scarlet & Violet Guide
For the Scarlet & Violet meta, At 680 BST, Giratina is built different. We rank it S-Tier. As a Legendary Pokemon, the raw stats back up the reputation. Best used as a wall. Defog with Leftovers is the standard set.
In Scarlet & Violet, watch for Weavile (Ice), Dusknoir (Ghost), and Kingdra (Dragon) when using Giratina. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Dark and Fairy-type attackers are also a problem. With 5 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter. Giratina has enough bulk to absorb a hit, but don't push the matchup. Pivot to a teammate that resists.
Levitate is what you want on Giratina. Every competitive set worth running is built with that ability in mind. On wall sets, Levitate pairs with Giratina's base 100 Defense to absorb physical hits on the switch.
Base 90 Speed is workable. Faster than some, slower than many. On offense, Giratina is a mixed attacker with base 120 Attack and 120 Sp. Atk. Defensively? Tanky enough to absorb a few hits. Best used as a wall.
For Scarlet & Violet, Giratina has answers, but so do you. Status moves (Toxic, Will-O-Wisp) wear it down. Setup sweepers can use it as a boost opportunity. Physical attackers can break through.
Game Availability
