That 4x Ground weakness is something every Toxtricity user needs to plan around. Technician boosts weaker moves to surprising damage levels, which helps. At least it resists 8 types to make up for it. Known as the Punk Pokemon.

Toxtricity's built around mixed offense. Sp. Atk leads the charge, Defense pays for it. Tough to catch, worth 2 Sp. Atk EVs. Follows a 1.06M XP medium-slow curve.

Many youths admire the way this Pokémon listlessly picks fights and keeps its cool no matter what opponent it faces.

Scarlet

As it gulps down stagnant water and generates electricity in its body, a sound like a rhythm played by a bass guitar reverberates all around.

Toxtricity Weakness

Good

Ground and Psychic-type moves hit Toxtricity for super-effective damage. Ground hits land at 4x, so they're the biggest threat. 8 resistances give it solid defensive coverage on top of that.

Without TMs, Toxtricity's movepool is bare bones. With them, you get coverage across 7 types on top of Belch and Gunk Shot for STAB. The natural kit handles basics, but TMs are doing the real work.

or evolve from Toxel (Step 1)
  • Don't let Toxtricity's 502 base stat total fool you. Technician is what makes it tick — it punches way above its weight class. We rate it B-Tier as an attacker.

  • Watch for Garchomp (Ground) and Gardevoir (Psychic) when using Toxtricity. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Garchomp is the most dangerous since Ground moves deal 4x damage. Only 2 weaknesses means fewer dedicated counters to worry about.

  • Toxel evolves into Toxtricity at level 30. Toxtricity is the fully evolved form. At 502 BST, it's got solid stats to work with.

  • Run Technician on Toxtricity. It's the ability that defines how you build around it and the main reason it holds a competitive niche. Toxtricity also gets Punk Rock and Plus, but they don't compare.

  • Toxtricity fills the attacker role. It's a special attacker with base 114 Sp. Atk. Base 75 Speed is workable — faster than some, slower than many. And it's enough bulk to take a hit or two.

  • Toxtricity can be found in Legends: Z-A, Scarlet & Violet, and Sword & Shield.

Toxtricity first appeared in Sword & Shield and spans 3 games across 2 generations. It later gained a Gigantamax form in Generation 8, adding new dimensions to its competitive identity.
